Job Description:

Iowa State University Human Resources (UHR) is seeking candidates for a full-time Staff Recruiting Specialist II (SRS). The SRS plays a critical role in the recruitment & selection process for all staff across the university in collaboration with campus leaders. As an SRS, you will lead and guide hiring managers through the full-recruiting life cycle, building strong partnerships across all UHR functions and with campus leaders. You will develop creative sourcing strategies, provide high-touch candidate and hiring manager care, and ensure best practices and compliance throughout the interview and hiring process. The SRS reports to the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition.  

As the SRS, you will be the subject matter expert for recruitment & selection policies and procedures and stay up to date on local, state, and federal employment policies. Ideal candidates will have experience managing the recruiting process for a wide variety of roles, and higher education experience is preferred.  

 

What you’ll do: 

Lead and Manage the Recruitment and Selection Process: 

  • Serve as the lead point-of-contact for all campus staff recruitment.  

  • Develops and executes robust and innovative recruitment strategies to attract and hire top university talent. 

  • Manage job requisitions from end to end, including creating attractive job posting advertisements.  

  • Review applicants against requirements for roles and manage each stage of the recruitment and hiring process, including reference checks, offers, and background checks.  

Provide High-Touch Customer Service:  

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.  

  • Provide timely follow-up to candidates and hiring managers for process and timeline updates.  

Ensure Compliance: 

  • Apply working knowledge of all applicable policies, procedures, and industry best practices.  

  • Maintain accurate records in Workday recruiting.

  • Training and Direction: May provide training or directions to lower-level staff. 

  • Project Leadership: Potentially lead projects of moderate scope and complexity.
