ROLE SUMMARY
The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for delivering operations of the Payroll  processes at high -quality standards in line with key objectives and agreed service level. Define and implement Payroll best practices according to industry standards and in line with Pfizer strategy; taking into consideration accounting standards, internal controls, regional policies and leverages technological platforms to bring effectiveness and efficiencies to the operation. Operational delivery through the engagement of both internal and external stakeholders and service providers.
The  Payroll Lead ensures payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and applicable government regulations. Works with vendors and Payroll Vendor Governance team to ensure SLA’s and quality metrics are met.
This position includes other administrative support activities assigned and deemed necessary for a team managing.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely to prioritize team workload and proactively follows up on outstanding items
- Owns Payroll  procedures from start to finish, ensuring the best possible outcome
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and translate the vision and strategy of Payroll  from a systems, process, policy, and procedures perspective.
- Maintains and when possible exceeds metrics and goals helps to monitor metrics
- Takes initiative in identifying processes and initiatives that fit into our Digital Finance strategy
- Thinks strategically with strong analytical and process management skills
- Capable of leading a team which may be extended to a third-party outsourced team
- Actively supports our GBS value proposition by keeping processes aligned with our delivery model and global standard
- Enhance our internal controls structures and optimizing our processes
- Leads and supports, in-house processes, continuous improvement initiatives, projects, and stakeholder collaborations
- Demonstrates business acumen and be able to apply market–specific knowledge in Business Partner and Customer interactions
- Ensure the timely and proper execution of adequate internal controls and understanding of the SOPs
- Liaise and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders as well as Senior Leaders across Pfizer to help drive shared goals and implement initiatives
- Responsible for keeping accurate and up-to-date Work Instructions, Job Aids and Desktop Procedures documentation
- Knows and comprehends the accounting cycle involved in each customer´s interaction, being able to assess the impact of his/her actions in a broader picture of the organization
- Understand and apply knowledge of the global systems landscape, obtains and reviews information necessary for the completion of management reporting and analysis ad-hoc requests
- Provide guidance and leadership regarding complex global Payroll processes and procedures
- Takes primary responsibility on market´s engagement initiatives
- Conducts a regular review of the process’s performance alongside other colleagues and managers, providing expert guidance and coaching to other colleagues
- Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation.
- Acts decisively to optimize practices, address risks and give guidance to colleagues within the teams
- Understanding of processes and applications within Pfizer business and shared services
- Ensures internal and external customer satisfaction by developing partnerships, understanding business unit unique requirements, being responsive and resolving issues in a timely manner
- Manages external and internal customer metrics and mutually established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to identify continuous strategic improvement projects to optimize financial processes
- Maintains focus on global alignment and standardization with GBS has driven technology and process initiatives
- Strong management and organizational skills required to coordinate and manage multiple cross–divisional work processes and projects

QUALIFICATIONS
 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluency in English and Spanish Required and Portuguese
- Desire Advance Office Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting / Business Administration is required.
- Business/finance-related Licenciatura degree required.Â
- 5 years of experience in a Corporate Finance environment required (shared service environment preferred).
- Payroll experience and Shared Service experience are preferred.
- Management and supervisory experience required.Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required
- Proven experience in people management/coordination
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Workday, ADP, Intelisis, Dayforce, Kronos, or other common HCM, payroll and time/attendance systems preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional, or similar professional designation preferred
- Assertive communication and negotiation skills to manage complex scenarios including escalations and difficult customers
- Make accurate and timely decisions that impact both suppliers and company
- Ability to create collaborative and strategic relations with both colleagues and stakeholders
