Under the direction of the Manager, HRIS, the HRIS Reporting Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Workday reports and dashboards to support business operations and decision-making processes. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday’s reporting tools and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights. Collaborates with project teams to support report and dashboard requirements and is responsible for the organization of report naming conventions and tags.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Designs, develops, and configures Workday reports, including advanced, matrix, composite, and Business Intelligence Reporting Tool (BIRT) reports to deliver business insights through comprehensive reporting and storytelling. Is responsible for the organization of report naming conventions, tags, and the Report Library to ensure consistency and ease of use.

2. Creates and maintains dashboards, discovery boards, and worksheets to provide scalable reporting solutions. Maintains leadership, compliance, and project dashboards to provide accurate and timely data analysis to track KPIs and enhance performance metrics across the business.

3. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and provides solutions to reporting issues, including optimizing report performance to ensure consistent user experience.

4. Collaborates with stakeholders, functional SMEs, and project managers to gather requirements, configure proof of concept, and ensure reports meet business needs.

5. Participates in weekly sprint stand-ups, project retrospectives, bi-annual Workday release review, and related feature and regression testing.

6. Conducts data audits and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations, validating data access against the HRIS Data Governance Matrix.  

7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

 EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Management Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of hands-on Workday experience is necessary, with proficiency in Workday Report Writer and Calculated Fields required. 
  • Minimum three (3) years of HR experience in Human Resources and functional skills required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Technical Proficiency & Analytics: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required, with proficiency in Teams and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Project Management & Communication: Actively participated in projects with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate across teams and business partners.
  • Personal Qualities & Work Ethic: Self-motivated and highly organized individual with a customer-focused mindset, able to work accurately under pressure and deadlines. Demonstrates critical thinking, confidentiality, and independent judgment in a dynamic work environment.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Workday Pro certification is preferred.

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings,

  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
