POSITION SUMMARY
Owens & Minor is looking for a Manager – HRIS to join our HR Operations team. We’re seeking an experienced and motivated teammate who is ready to take on the challenge of driving the successful delivery of HR projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of functional and technical expertise, as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the business This position will play a key role driving and enhancing the People Technology Solutions at Owens & Minor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- As a manager, lead the team with clear communication of all associated goals and dates.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical team. Actively manage team workload, task prioritization, and project allocation.
- Mentor and grow the Workday team while keeping them engaged and focused on the Workday project goals.
- As an architect, design and recommend technology solutions that drive holistic solutions that bring together our overall technology stack across our platforms: HR (Workday), Multiple Financial Systems (SAP/Oracle), Payroll, Learning, Benefit Vendors, and Analytics.
- Translate functional needs into technical solutions. Understand and simulate the desired outcome and consult to ensure business needs are solved. Provide recommendations that balance meeting the business need and creating scalable, best in class technology solutions and experiences.
- Monitor and recommend changes to improve processes, technology, and data quality.
- Lead technology intake and design sessions across People Technology, SMEs, and business leaders on topics including Workday Integrations, processes, and connections to other enterprise systems.
- Responsible for understanding, creating, and implementing end to end technology processes, identifying, and closing gaps in processes and dependencies and transforming the technology landscape, specifically utilizing data connections.
- Following best in class People Technology Governance by completing intake sessions, introducing standardizing methodologies, SDLC principles, templates, and repeatable processes for People Technology Analysts and stakeholders to use
- Uphold excellent project management skills including technical requirements gathering, integration documentation, testing plans, and cut-over plans from a technology perspective and lead stakeholders through these standards.
- Through partnership and collaboration with HR COEs, collaborate on organizational wide change management initiatives, programs, and large-scale cross-functional initiatives.
- Provide effective support and leadership to HR Technology team. Â
- Contribute to strategic enhancements and improve user experiences by driving best practices related to data integrity and processes.
- Act as a thought leadership partner and subject matter expert for HR Technology projects and initiatives.
- Act as lead and SME for acquisitions; this includes data gathering, mapping, configuration, testing, deployment, etc.
Required knowledge & experience
- 15+ years of experience in Workday Integrations and people technology with experience working on large Workday initiatives and managing technical teams.
- Experience integrating Workday HCM objects and hierarchy with SAP (not limited to) to enable Payroll G/L data, workflow approval functionality and employee vendor creation.
- Experience with Workday Studio, CCB, BIRT, EIBs, Core Connectors, ISSG’s, ISUs, Payroll Interface (PECI/ PICOF)
- Hands on experience configuring, developing, and testing on the Workday platform (Proficient with Integrations, Integration Security, Workday Studio, Cloud Connect, EIBs, BIRT, Calculated Fields, Report Writer, XML, XSLT, SOAP and Rest APIs)
- Solid experience with JSON, SOAP & REST style web services
- Good understanding of Workday’s business object model and relationships.
- Demonstrable ability to manage contending priorities.
- Motivated and interested in quickly learning and adapting to new process and technologies.
- Self-Starter. Willing to take on the tough projects and challenges to grow and develop.
- Intellectually curious. You have strong analytical skills, proven experience understanding and effectively implementing Workday integrations across all Workday modules.
- Ambitious, creative, radical collaborator, and active listener. You enjoy building things and continually strive to do things better than the status quo.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience supporting an HCM with 8+ years experience designing, configuring, and supporting the Workday HCM application
- Strong functional and technical experience in two or more of the following modules within the Workday HCM Suite: HCM Core, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, and Talent & Performance
- 8+ years experience managing an HR Technology team
- Data driven approach with the ability to use EIB’s to export and import data
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Pivot Tables, Macros, V-Look-Up, etc.
