Who You’ll Work With:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the firm, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient management of financial resources. What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual audited financial statements.

  • Support the Controller in managing the general ledger, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process including performing general ledger reconciliations, analysis and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

  • Partner closely with the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller on transactions and various ad hoc requests from the business units, as necessary.

  • Coordinate and assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and analysis to aid decision-making.

  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and support business initiatives.

  • Assist in the management of cash flow and liquidity to optimize financial resources.

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Controller or senior management.

  • Oversee the tracking and reporting of Assets Under Management (AUM), ensuring accurate and timely data.

  • Manage the billing process, including the calculation and invoicing of management fees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client agreements.

  • Lead or support system implementation projects, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of financial systems.

  • Utilize Workday for financial reporting, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the asset management or financial services industry. Public accounting experience a plus.

  • Strong technical proficiency of U.S. GAAP and ability to interpret and apply accounting standards.

  • Proficient in consolidation accounting and understanding of local accounting standards for various international locations.

  • Previous experience with managing large teams including those in international locations and differing time zones.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Experience with Workday and system implementation projects is highly desirable.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
