Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

The Senior Functional Analyst – Workday Financials will be the technical lead for day-to-day operations of the Workday Financials platform. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional partners including Finance, Accounting and Procurement product managers to develop and execute features that will drive satisfaction and product adoption. This position will have responsibility to recommend and implement business processes, reporting, dashboards, integrations, and configurations that enable Workday to maximize organizational and business performance.

The candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to follow and implement a project schedule, have a continuous improvement mindset and be capable of handling multiple priorities concurrently. We are looking for candidates who are excellent communicators, as well as self-starting and energetic. The Senior Functional Analyst – Workday Financials will also be capable of dealing with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities, with a strong desire to take on more responsibility as they grow.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Workday Financials modules including but not limited to Financial Accounting, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Supplier Contracts, Customer Accounts, Expenses, Cash Management, Business Assets
  • Address day-to-day production issues and be also involved in new process design initiatives and new module implementations projects
  • Provide on-demand support for the accounting/finance teams during month-end and year-end close activities
  • Support strategic initiatives with requirements gathering, functionality research, and implementation
  • Research and provide documentation current and upcoming Workday capabilities
  • Focus on building solutions to solve business problems and improve end user experience
  • Participate in an agile work environment
  • Configure and implement Business Process changes in Workday
  • Evaluate the feasibility of system modifications and enhancements
  • Demo solutions to key business stakeholders
  • Provide support for internal Workday users
  • Drive the deployment of feature releases and system maintenance, ensuring stakeholder requirements are met
  • Act as a liaison between the business, admin/developer resources (if applicable), and QA to ensure resources have necessary information to complete work
  • Work with Finance and Accounting to ensure up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes, and capabilities
  • Possess a solid understanding of data imports/exports in Workday
  • Demonstrate proof of security controls during internal and external audits
  • Support the business with complex reporting and analytics requests

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 2+ yrs. of experience working with Workday Finance in an implementation/consulting/technical support role
  • 5+ yrs. exp. solving configuration and integration issues through root-cause analysis, deep understanding of cross-stream and down-stream impacts is preferred
  • Strong understanding of how integrations work with workday core business processes is strongly desired
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong written skills to accommodate quality technical documentation
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Workday FIN Core certification is preferred

AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE:

  • Full project lifecycle and workday implementation experience
  • Subject Matter Expert in the following areas:
    • Financial Accounting: General Ledger, Allocations, Consolidations, Multicurrency, multibook accounting
    • Business Assets: Asset Tracking, Depreciation, ASC 842 lease accounting, multibook asset accounting
    • Bank & Settlement: First Notice Rules, Matching Rules, Cash Forecasting
    • Expenses: Corporate Credit Cards, Expense Reports
  • Experience supporting integration and business process design
  • Strong understanding of ERP Systems, concepts, and touch points across various modules.
  • Understanding Finance business processes and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with Workday Finance stakeholders
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the users’ needs and situation
  • Ability to gain a thorough understanding of Workday concepts as new features are released
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into understandable presentations for our customers
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple engagements and deliverables simultaneously
  • Exposure to Web Services, EDI, XML, XSLT, Java, or .Net integration technologies is a plus

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in the United States and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for U.S. based candidates for this position is $103,000 – 141,000 USD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for Canada based candidates for this position is $80,000 — $103,000 CAD annually. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.
