Workday Financial Management and Human Capital Management (HCM) across the Philippines, Australia, USA, and the Dominican Republic.


The Workday HCM Functional Specialist supports HCM areas in Workday, including Recruitment, Time Tracking, Performance, Learning, etc. Specifically, the role will involve routine data queries, as well as building complex Workday report and dashboards. The position will monitor changes by Workday and respond to them appropriately with configuration changes and stakeholder communication.

The Workday HCM Functional Specialist will be managing Workday HCM change requests, defect resolutions, resolving issues via coordination of the project teams as required to complete testing on tenant for successful completion of Workday configuration. The Workday HCM Functional Specialist may also support the Implementation of new features of Workday and provide help with report generation and data validation activities associated with the HCM modules.

As Workday HCM Functional Specialist, you are responsible in ensuring that all company data, employment and personal information of employees are kept and handled in accordance with existing company policies on Information Security and Data Privacy.

Your responsibilities include, but is not limited to the following:

Workday HCM Partnering Serve as a strong consultative partner to internal departments in service delivery. Design and maintain system configuration, such as cost centers and consolidations. Maintain master data values in Workday across areas of responsibility. Test, validate and implement Business Process changes in Workday. Work in order to meet expected business performance goals by providing full range of customer service. Provide input to Workday Project Manager and Integration Lead/ Workday AMS Manager, Workday Team Members, and clients as appropriate. Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen.

Workday Data Analysis and Reporting Writing Consult with all stakeholders to evaluate their needs in order to provide metrics that drive business decisions. Monitor changes to Workday on a biyearly basis during regular system updates and respond to them appropriately with configuration changes and stakeholder communication. Identify, recommend and implement innovative reporting processes and procedures to improve efficiency considering system capabilities, system capacity and limitation, operating time, and desired results. Develop and maintain Workday reports (Advanced/Matrix/Composite). Troubleshoot report related issues and resolve in a timely manner. Lead efforts to analyze and optimize all report performance. Maintain proper change management documentation to satisfy Acquire BPO’s internal and external audit controls. Stay informed of new functionality available in Workday and drive the deployment of feature releases as it relates to reporting/metrics/dashboards.

Workday Application Management Services Troubleshoot minor security issues. Assist HR teams with the data analysis, design, system configuration and testing associated with established cycle requirements. Collaborate with Information Technology to develop and implement new or enhanced technology (e.g., interfaces, outsourced vendor arrangements, system integration) and manages service and support. Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Assist with software implementation and upgrades as necessary. Ability to report on all Workday HCM modules.

Workday Testing Develop and manage QA processes and implementing testing techniques and tools. Deploy unit, regression, integration, system testing and user acceptance testing methodologies. Establish and control activities to adhere to requirements (contract, functional, non-functional) and maintain requirements traceability matrices. Guide business and testing team(s) in best practices and defined testing methodologies (i.e., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Create, review and validate Test Cases, Test Scrips, Test Master Plan and Test Project Work Schedules to meet stated business needs. Evaluate, review and implement recommendations for improvements to existing testing methodology procedures and documentation for efficient delivery of high-quality products. Evaluate and define test entry and exit criteria for all testing types. Assimilate, document and provide performance metrics and reports for testing activities. Train and mentor stakeholders on testing methodology activities. Facilitate effective project team meetings for all testing related topics.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have at least 3 years hands-on experience in Workday HCM or other modules
  • Understanding of operations and experience in HCM data management and reporting
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the internal stakeholders’ needs and situation
  • Comprehensive Workday HCM test scripts development experience
  • Expertise in developing/documenting testing strategies, including test plan development, schedule creation and QA reporting
  • Extensive user acceptance testing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
