About the Team:

AGF’s Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Department provides executive management with the analysis and information they need to make major strategic, operational, and financial decisions. 

About the Role:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key contributor to the FP&A team, providing support by preparing information and reports, which will be leveraged to enhance strategic and business planning, decision support and manage finances.

This role will be a hybrid role, which will require a minimum of 2 days per week in the Toronto Corporate Office located at 81 Bay Street.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Reporting:

  • Point person for Assets under Management and flow management reporting.  Prepare management reports, which includes reporting by geography, strategy, and investment management teams. Field questions from lines of business managers and CFO.
  • Preparation and maintenance of Line of Business reporting, including reviewing methodology and surveying business for inputs annually.
  • Preparation and maintenance of other management reports outlining profitability of various business units and products as required.    
  • Preparation of Key Performance Indicators Report which summarizes results against targets and goes to the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors quarterly.

Business Planning and Monitoring:

  • Build and maintain financial models to support the annual budget and quarterly rolling forecast process
    • Develop and continuously improve financial reports and models to support focused decision making
    • Responsible for revenue financial modeling
    • Support the budgeting and forecast of several line of businesses


  • Support the institutional business acceptance process which includes assessing appropriateness of pricing, contractual terms, and service commitments
  • Support the Director, Investor Relations with materials used for AGF’s quarterly earnings call and investor meetings
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis, when requested, and perform other related duties as assigned by management


  • Completion of CPA designation.
  • 2+ years of experience, preference given to public accounting experience or experience in a corporate accounting role within the asset management space.
  • Experience within the financial services industry highly desirable.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights and Workday Financials an asset.
  • Intermediate level of understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, an acute attention to detail and an eye towards continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly and work independently on multiple competing priorities.
