Job Description:

We are looking for an efficient Payroll Administrator that will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll & all payroll tax processes. Follows established procedures in making a variety of system entries, initiating payroll calculations, internal and external interfaces and various other payroll related audits and reporting. Duties will also include the management of employee data, ensuring employee & third-party vendor questions are answered on time, and partnering with all payroll partners & state agencies to resolve agency notices.


  • Maintains and administers the Time and Attendance system in Workday.
  • Processes the bi-weekly payroll accurately and on a timely basis in Workday.
  • Analyzes, audits and maintains accurate employee tax withholding, wage garnishment, direct deposit, wage distribution and other related payroll data.
  • Reconciles and files all required vendor deduction and wage reports.
  • Researches and resolves complex payroll & tax issues, including but not limited to, stock and executive compensation.
  • Assists in supporting employees, answering program related questions, and assisting where needed.
  • Assists with year-end review and processing of W2’s and W2c’s.
  • Research errors, determines root cause, and makes recommendations for on-going process improvements.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
  • Collaborates with HRIS, Payroll Operation, Total Rewards and HR communities in the support of payroll operations
  • Evaluates existing payroll processes and makes recommendations to the Payroll Manager for continuous process improvement.
  • Assures compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • At least five or more years of payroll experience and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education.  
  • Helpful to have full-cycle payroll processing experience, but not required.
  • FPC or CPP preferred, but not required.
  • ADP and/or Workday experience preferred.
  • Previous multi-state payroll & tax experience.


  • Strong Microsoft proficiency is required, especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • Technically inclined and a quick learner 
  • Prioritizes customer service; willing to go above and beyond to ensure prompt and courteous service.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentially and professionalism.
  • Exemplifies teamwork and shows respect for others.
  • Prioritizes to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Adapts to an everchanging, high volume work environment.
  • Required to be well organized with extreme attention to detail.
