Sr. Payroll Analyst
Job Description: ​
The Sr. Payroll Analyst supports payroll operations, compliance, responds to employee inquiries. This role will participate in system testing and upgrades, research employment taxes, and all applicable labor laws and regulations.
Essential Job Functions:

Understands and generates payroll processing in multi-state organization. Runs regular bi-weekly payroll, off cycle payroll requests (bonus, termination, adhoc), generates tax and payments associated with stock transactions.

Establish strong partnerships with key internal organizations such as Stock Plan Services, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, People Team (HR), Benefits, and SOX functions.

Support proactive, collaborative relationships with outside vendors, and IT teams to ensure process consistency.

Ensure payroll analytical and reporting capabilities meet stakeholder requirements as instructed by Manager.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as agilon’s policies regarding payments of wages, tax withholding, garnishments, and employee elected deductions.

Ensure taxes and other required government withholdings are executed, collected, deposited and reported on a timely basis to federal, state, and local authorities in a secure manner.

Coordinate year-end tax activities including adjustments to tax withholdings, submission of IRS employer reports, and distribution of wage and tax statements to employees.

At the direction of leader, will perform research and analysis of current GL/Journal entry and tax issues (i.e. outsource payroll processing, tax reporting through ADP, taxation of non-UBS processed transaction. remote worker stipends) and propose and implement appropriate solutions.

Support the assessment of internal controls for payroll processes and related payroll software systems. Provide required evidence for SOX testing and reviews by internal and external auditors.

Stay current on regulations, benefits changes, and labor laws impacting the payroll process, and stay compliant for all payroll tax jurisdictions.

Support payroll software platform and time & attendance platform (Workday). Participate in review and testing of system enhancements. Coordinate with internal and external system developer to review enhancements and communicate with leader regarding implementation needs.

Knowledge & Skills:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credentials
-
Experience with full scope of Workday payroll software with ADP tax and pay disbursement.

Understanding of federal, state and local hourly and salaried timekeeping rules/regulations, related to overtime and per diem/piece rate pay.

Working knowledge of relevant federal and state wage and hour laws.

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in clear and concise manner.

Exercises judgment in selecting methods, evaluating, adapting of complex techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Work is reviewed upon completion and is consistent with departmental objectives.
Education & Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor in Finance or Business or equivalent years of experience

5+ years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Interactions:

Understands the interrelationships of different disciplines and how to influence change.

Communicates regularly with external tax and payment processing company

Interacts with internal and external audit teams regularly

Pay Range: ​
$77,000.00 – $94,300.00
Salary range shown is a guideline. Individual compensation packages can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and qualifications.
