Your role

Alchemy is looking for a versatile and experienced professional to become an integral part our Finance team. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with tremendous drive, intelligence, and capability.  We are a small but agile team looking for the perfect fit to add to our growing organization. As our company environment is fast-paced and growing quickly, this person will have a large impact on developing new processes and analyses.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, this role will be responsible for managing, including but not limited to, Workday time tracking and projects, supporting the rolling forecast and planning process, performing forecast vs actual analysis, month-end close responsibilities and actualizing financial models. This role will also be responsible for preparing month-end flux analyses including monthly and quarterly variance analyses versus the annual plan.

Your responsibilities

  • Support annual operations planning and rolling forecasts
  • Support project planning and forecasting in Workday PSA
  • Support the Services organization for questions related to Workday projects, tasks, and time entry
  • Become an expert in PSA Workday reporting including maintaining a listing of key Workday PSA reports
  • Drive financial reporting and processes for expense and headcount management on a monthly and quarterly basis using Excel and Workday Reporting
  • Partner with cross functional partners including Human Resources, Accounting, Services and R&D
  • Responsible for translating contractual agreements into Workday, partnering with Revenue Accounting for accurate accounting considerations
  • Leverage the Workday Financials, Workday Projects, and Workday Reporting to automate and scale current processes
  • Monitor hourly consultant forecasts, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of variances and working to help resolve issues
  • Assist resource manager in assigning internal resources to Workday Projects
  • Perform profitability analysis
  • Create new projects and project templates in Workday to accurately forecast resource requirements
  • Assist in the compilation of estimated costs for project proposals
  • Update and create operational documentation
  • Set up and maintain customer billing rate cards, project templates in Workday
  • Prepare presentations of financial results and analyses
  • Create ad hoc financial models to support management decision making
  • Prepare and perform month-end close transactions in Workday, including various journal entries
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual flux analyses and management reporting
  • Initial set up of new contracts for Services organization
  • Drive and share learnings from financial analysis on completed projects
  • Develop, drive and publish utilization metrics and analysis
  • Analyze revenue and expense trends and investigate variances, partnering with Accounting
  • Update financial models with actual results
  • Identify and drive continuous process improvements
  • Assist with new system implementations
  • Update and draft desktop procedures for various business processes within Workday including Workday Projects and Time Tracking 
  • Train end users on Workday Projects as needed

About you (Required skills)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 4-8 years of financial analysis and modeling experience     
  • Excel expert: pivot tables, formulas, and financial modeling
  • Finance background, familiar with budgeting, capex, opex, depreciation, building financial models and profitability analyses
  • Ability to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels internally
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and SalesForce.com
  • Strong attention to details and solid organizational skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally within a smaller organization
  • Ability to work independently and productively
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Proactive and willing to learn new skills
  • Flexible and able to fulfill ad hoc requests on short notice in alignment with Alchemy's core values
  • Able and willing to travel up to 5%

About you (Bonus skills):

  • MBA or CPA
  • Adaptive Insights/Workday Planning experience
  • Workday Financials and PSA (Workday Projects and Workday Reporting), as well as Consulting industry experience

Pay Transparency Statement

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Alchemy variable bonus plan based on role-specific commission/bonus. Talent Acquisition can share more detail during the hiring process. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Alchemy, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000-$110,000 USD.
