RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to lead, motivate and retain a team of skilled payroll resources supporting various countries across a region
Accountable to deploy, measure, track, ensure compliance and report standard Service Levels (SLAs) and quality audits, RCA, key process and operational metrics (KPIs) including high customer service expectations for associates.
Deploy and monitor global standard payroll processes, to ensue Alcon is effectively gaining from economies of scale, utilizing technologies and operating systems to support agreed Service Delivery Model for Alcon
Deploy, train and qualify payroll delivery team on standard solutions, standard delivery models, and improvement initiatives, to ensure global and consistent service delivery for Alcon
Drive Alcon services compliance on payroll processes and procedures (taking into account localizations), Self-Service, and Data Analytics & Reporting requirements
Enable effective hand-off of data between upstream and downstream constituencies (e.g., Employees, Managers, HR Business Partners, COEs, Finance, Tax Authorities), as required
Encourage and support process improvement initiatives in the team.
Ensure proactive monitoring and regularly delivery of reports to the leadership on the progress.
Ensure team members observe and enforce Alcon’s data privacy policies
Focusing on identification, selection, and retention of world-class talent to ensure a dynamic pipeline of talent
Leads, supports and coaches the team in the delivery of the current scope, deployment and adoption of any new system or technology, manages priorities, ensures activities are handled effectively by modifying plans and actions in own areas of accountability.
Measure, track and ensure compliance of service SLAs of third party supplier(s)
Monitor service delivery performance of Alcon team and take corrective action, as necessary
Oversee day-to-day operational effectiveness of regional payroll vendor(s) and payroll specialists from data collection through downstream delivery of pay to employees, pay data to GL / third parties / statutory authorities
Participate in and regularly lead in country specific or regional projects providing process/country specific knowledge as valuable input for the initiative
Participate in the development and delivery of training for team members, other HR functions, or third party vendor resources, as needed
Possess knowledge of project management principles and ability to use it in practice in HR operational work
Proactively stay up-to-date on trends and developments within payroll space, constantly researching and implementing best practices as appropriate; Work to enhance the capability of self and team
Provide inputs to Payroll Global Process Owner on global process design / process localizations, vendor performance and pay practices
Provide leadership in support of organizational direction and culture. Manage employee performance using established company tools/methodology and set an example for team members
See and understand the ‘holistic picture’ and recognize and understand any impacts to system landscape
Support payroll delivery team on issue escalation, clarification, resolution and closure of issues
SKILLS REQUIRED

EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related discipline required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Preferred: 7+ years of experience supporting Payroll/Time Systems & Processes
Required: 5+ years of experience supporting Payroll/Time Systems & Processes
Preferred: 6+ years in Payroll and Time Systems
Required: 3+ years in Payroll and Time Systems
Preferred: 5+ years supporting countries in Center regional area including in depth knowledge of local labor law and regulatory statutes
Required: 3+ years supporting countries in Center regional area including in depth knowledge of local labor law and regulatory statutes
Preferred: 2+ years in ServiceNow or other case management system
Required: 1+ years in ServiceNow or other case management system
Preferred: 6+ years working in an HR Shared Services or Payroll/Timekeeping environment
Required: 3+ years working in an HR Shared Services or Payroll/Timekeeping environment
If majority of the experience is in one area; required to have at least 3 years in the other area.
Preferred: 3+ years as manager of others
2+ years as leader of multinational/multi-lingual teams
Preferred: 2+ years actively using Six Sigma or other CI methodologies
Required: 1+ years actively using Six Sigma or other CI methodologies
Required:Advanced experience using MS office suite (special focus on word, powerpoint & excel)
Deep knowledge of payroll operations across multiple countries
External Suppliers (Third Party) payroll service delivery and vendor management capabilities
Functional deployment of payroll solutions (experience with requirements documentation, testing and change management)
Payroll policy administration, process design, issue escalation and management
Need to understand complex matrix of laws, policies and labor agreements and interpret for others in an understandable manner, and use appropriate judgment in involving the next level or other resources in decision-making.
Payroll and Time Management Systems experience required, such as ADP, Kronos, SDWorx, Workday experience a plus
Ability to work & lead effectively in an environment subject to changing priorities and short deadlines
Shifting work schedule might be required depending on the critical deliverables and the urgent requirements of countries supported
