As a Workday Consultant, a typical day includes the following:
- Analyzes, defines, and documents complex business requirements and processes relating to functional areas of expertise (Absence or Time Tracking).
- Leads design and review of existing or new functionality/configuration with technical and functional resources at all levels, including members of management.
- Understands the scope and details of the project plan and is able to identify and communicate the need for resources for tasks or assigned areas of responsibility.
- Manages multiple, parallel projects/tasks using exceptional organizational and time management techniques to successfully complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Manages Workday projects/tasks through the various lifecycle stages, from business needs through design and delivery.
- Provide guidance and thought leadership on how skillset and capability can help resolve client needs and actively participate in all phases of the Workday life cycle.
- Monitors progress of tasks against plan, and reports status to leadership on project issues.
- Establishes and maintains client relationships. Communicate client feedback to leadership as appropriate.
- Suggests improvements and proactively addresses issues. Answers all inquiries in a timely basis.
- Demonstrates knowledge relating to Workday functional area and participates in training and development initiatives to keep abreast of current trends and practices.
- Contributes to knowledge management capital through activities such as sharing documented lessons learned, Q&A, documented deliverables, and regularly posting best practices and knowledge-sharing information to the internal info-sharing site.
- Understands quality standards for own work and monitors and manages work of team members, providing feedback as appropriate.
- Completes assigned tasks in prescribed timelines consistent with deliverables and asks for support and direction as appropriate.
- Understands the scope and details of the project plan and is able to identify and communicate the need for resources for tasks or assigned areas of responsibility.
- May provide guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to other team members.
Your Skills and Qualifications should reflect our values and will include:
- 3 to 5 plus years of previous experience implementing Absence or Time Tracking systems. Such experience may include Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, ADP, Oracle E-Business, Ultipro, or other SaaS software solutions.
- Current Workday certification in Absence and/or Time Tracking or achievement of certification in Absence and/or Time Tracking required.
- Workday deployment experience preferred.
- Previous consulting experience either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software organization.
- Possesses strong facilitation/presentation skills.
- Experience in transforming business requirements into complex system configurations.
- Ability to be effectively and actively engaged on multiple, parallel projects.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize conflicting demands with little supervision.
- Demonstrates strong work ethic, setting an example for others.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in advanced MS Excel Skills to be used to transform data. (advanced formulas).

- Current Workday certification or Workday Pro Certification for Workday Absence or Time Tracking, or achievement of these certifications.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical, business, or financial discipline or relevant field of study required.

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate’s experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $55,000.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $178,600.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
