Who You’ll Work With:

Within AB’s People business unit, Corporate Communications is a global team of cross-functional communicators who drive all aspects of internal and external communications. Internally, Corporate Communications leads key initiatives related to firm culture, learning and development, employee experience and engagement, talent management, and executive messaging. Their external communications expertise includes crisis and reputation management, global media relations, and social media.

What You’ll Do:

The AVP, Instructional Designer and Curator will be responsible for designing and implementing in-house e-learning training programs that support the growth and development of AB employees, as well as source and curate a library of online content, while maintaining the firm’s learning management system (Workday Learning). The role reports to the Chief Communications Officer and will work very closely and collaboratively with AB’s talent, learning and development colleagues as well as partners across a variety of strategic business units. You will:

  • Plan and design e-learning training programs that align with AB’s goals and objectives
  • Utilize instructional design principles to create engaging and effective e-learning courses and curriculums
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance
  • Conduct needs assessments with clients to uncover skills gaps and development opportunities
  • Measure transfer of training to assess impact and value of course offerings
  • Maintain a capability to source and evaluate off-the-shelf programming as well as self-developed content
  • Research topic areas generally aligned with corporate professional development opportunities
  • Build evaluation tools to identify further training needs or to enact modifications to course offerings
  • Create post-training reinforcement tools and vehicles
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance training programs
  • Manage and maintain the company's LMS, building employee learning journeys and curriculums
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external training providers and vendors
  • Collaborate with People leadership to identify and support individual employee development plans
  • Monitor and report on the impact of training programs on employee performance and overall business goals

We are seeking a creative and driven individual with a strong background in instructional design, a deep understanding of learning principles, and excellent communication skills. Specifically, we are looking for:

  • Superb understanding of e-learning and curriculum design
  • Excellent knowledge of manager/leadership training
  • Presentation skills and ability to facilitate
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Familiarity with Workday Learning LMS a plus, but not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to be a flexible, proactive, creative problem-solver
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-based environment
