The HR Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting the Payroll Manager and Compensation Manager with the day-to-day functions related to the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and compensation requests. This is an entry-level, non-exempt position meant to familiarize the worker in the areas of compensation and payroll to prepare for future roles. Overtime work is not anticipated.

Payroll and Administration:

  • Serve as point of contact for time, attendance and payroll questions;
  • Assist with processing payroll and maintaining payroll information as required;
  • Maintain the upkeep and confidentiality of payroll records and files;
  • Maintain payment of, and distribution of reporting data related to all garnishments and deductions to proper authorities;
  • Assist with gross to net calculation, audit and balancing of pay data;
  • Assist with reconciliation of all payroll accounts to general ledger;
  • Prepare and maintain payroll-related records and reports as needed;
  • Serve as designated back-up to administer and process payroll;
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of accurate records regarding payroll;
  • Answer level one support questions in the Service Desk.

Compensation Administration:

  • Assist in gathering compensation survey data needed for the compensation manager to determine pay ranges for new positions;
  • Assist with data entry into Workday HRIS for position/job details;
  • Load and validate compensation data into Workday HRIS;
  • Assist in administration of annual/quarterly compensation processes (merit/bonus);
  • Assist in translation of compensation materials;
  • Answer level one support questions in the Service Desk.
