Compensation Minimum:$68,200 Annual
Compensation Maximum:$109,200 Annual
Summary:
This position will provide 2nd level support for our Workday HCM Platform (Payroll, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, etc) and execute Workday Repeatable Work and Configuration updates. Will analyze incident trends for improvements on Business Process Configurations. Will complete mass changes in the system (EIB), update notifications, execute audits, assist with Workday releases.
Candidates would ideally have the following experience/knowledge:
– Need HR experience and strong Workday User at a minimum
– Preferred: At least 1 year of Workday Configuration experience, with Workday HCM (Recruiting/Staffing/Comp/Benefits/Talent/Learning/absence/time tracking, etc) or Payroll
– If no Configuration experience, minimally need to have provided support to Workday
– Agile experience is a plus
– Analytical skills
– Assign security roles is a plus
– HCM Fundamentals training is a plus
The Business Systems Senior Specialist is responsible for identifying, implementing, and supporting Claims Legal and Corporate Legal & Regulatory Affairs business systems. Responsible for scoping and managing business systems projects that deliver products to support work processes as well as compliance with insurance and other regulatory requirements. Leads ideation and prioritization process for future system use and enhancements. Serves as the primary liaison between supported divisions and I/S for technology related projects and needs. Researches and evaluates business system application developments and technologies within the insurance industry and business markets that are relevant to the business and future business strategy.

Primary Accountabilities
Technical Leadership (25%)
- Identifies ways for technology to improve business processes and support corporate strategic plans and division goals and objectives. Presents recommendations to leadership.
- Initiates and leads the development, improvement, and maintenance of cross-divisional and internal divisional processes including workflow, compliance and technology.
- Researches and evaluates business system developments and technology to meet business objectives. Maintains knowledge of business application system trends and developments within the insurance industry and business markets.

Business Systems Project Management (20%)
- Provides technical and project leadership for complex business system application projects. Projects may involve multiple divisions. Defines business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and project charters.
- Manages the business`s components of the technology project plan following corporate project management practices. Manages project scope and project integration to ensure project coordination within and external to the division.
- Works with business users to translate business rules and processes to business requirements for new vendor systems and changes to existing vendor systems. Collaborates with I/S on business and system requirements for internally developed and supported systems.
- Maps data flows and fields in order to capture system integration points, interactions, and connectivity. Shares knowledge with I/S and vendors.
- Consults with I/S and vendors to ensure efficient design and implementation of business application systems.
- Manages application quality by collaborating on the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and post production verification, including but not limited to writing test cases and scenarios, creating test data to match defined criteria, reviewing data to match criteria, and coordinating user acceptance testing. Ownership of the test strategy and plan may vary by system, in some cases it is owned by I/S and in others it is owned by the vendor and business.
- Identifies project risks or conflicts and develops mitigation or contingency plans.
- Communicates project status and decision points to division leadership.
Vendor Management (15%)
- Researches, assists in selection, and manages business service providers.
- Participates with Sourcing and Procurement in contract management and negotiation, including service level and support agreements.
- Works with I/S to ensure vendor evaluation, testing and implementation of software.
- Manages and troubleshoots issues with vendor data exchange.
- Plans all aspects of testing for maintenance releases and non-integrated vendor solutions.
Data Integrity (15%)
- Maintains an awareness of the types of data stored or passed through business systems. Develops procedures for improving data quality and addressing issues.
- Provides leadership and expertise in working with I/S and other business partners to ensure data captured by systems is verifiable, validated using appropriate sources, and complete.
- Collaborates with I/S and other business partners to ensure data is stored and transmitted in a way that maintains the integrity of the information and will provide for future historical analysis.
- Maintains knowledge of various tools that extract data for divisional metrics development and integrity.
Business System Support (15%)
- Researches complex system issues and partners with I/S or system vendors to resolve issues.
- Coordinates change deployment to business systems. Notifies business users and other impacted business partners of system changes or process changes due to system changes.
- Coordinates business application system training for users. May be done in conjunction with HR-Education.
- Provides ongoing system support to users regarding system capabilities. Responds to questions from business partners regarding business application systems capabilities.
- Provides system overview documentation to describe business application system changes, document implementation dates and helps division leadership identify potential procedural changes.
System Configuration (10%)
- Establishes and maintains user enabled system updates.
- Sets and maintains user configuration baselines and evaluates all change requests and proposals.
- Updates, audits, and tests tables or other department or division specific information.
- Executes testing of business user configurations.
- Identifies business opportunities for configuration versus customization on new software systems.
- Works with business partner and vendors as a liaison for configuration procedures and best practices.
- Configures and maintains, including content management, divisional website and other division specific web pages.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
- Basic knowledge and understanding of unit, functional, and performance testing along with testing automation.
- Demonstrated experience developing user acceptance testing plans and strategies.
- Demonstrated experience managing/leading projects.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, practices, techniques and tools.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of process management and how technology can be used to improve business processes.
Travel Requirements
- This position requires travel up to 5% of the time

This position is a hybrid role that involves working a minimum of 10 days per month in the office.
