We are in search for an energetic, and highly motivated hands-on leader that will manage all day-to-day aspects of People & Culture for our Montreal based business. In this newly created role reporting to the Chief People and Performance Officer, the ideal candidate is a solid, broad-based bilingual HR Generalist who has demonstrated the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization. As the main point of contact for employee relations, the candidate will provide coaching and advice to the Montreal management team on all HR related matters. The role is critical in executing people initiatives across a newly acquired segment of our business, supporting 40+ Associates.

Position Functions

HR Operational Management

• Manage all aspects of Associate relations including addressing Associate concerns and implementing the necessary resolutions or corrective actions

•Contribute to quarterly People & Culture metrics to measure the value and effectiveness of Associate initiatives and programs

• Draft, communicate and educate managers and employees on HR policies, programs, processes and continuously monitor their effectiveness

• Work with the Amynta HR Solutions team to maintain and enhance Sym-Tech’s Workday business process and protocols

• Oversee Sym-Tech’s Montreal based onboarding program and the new hire experience while continuously measuring and evaluating its effectiveness

• Conduct exit interviews to assess and improve all aspects of the working environment

• Continuously seek ways to improve process and procedures to ensure the department’s time is focused on adding value and on driving results

• Ensure adherence to all applicable legislation and company policies in all areas of HR operations

• Keeps abreast of industry trends, related Quebec employment law and legislative rulings assessing potential impact to the organization and adjusting practices or escalating as necessary

Total Rewards

• Support the Amynta Canada RRSP program including enrollment, communication and support

• Partner with the Amynta Benefits team on Associate benefit inquires including statutory leave, Short-Term Disability and Long Time Disability

• Assist in any payroll related submissions on a semi-monthly basis

• Answers questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records

• Continuous review of salary and benefit programs to ensure competitiveness and relevance to business needs and external market

Performance Management

• Manage Sym-Tech’s performance management program and process in accordance with current best practices

• Manage and lead the goal setting process

• Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance related issues including performance improvement plans

Talent Management

• Focus on identifying and managing talent through talent reviews to ensure performance gaps are identified and strategies to build top talent are in place

• Assist, support and provide guidance to Management on the implementation of organizational changes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience including 1 year of management experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French (Fluent)
  • BA Degree required in an area of specialty (Business, Human Resource Management, Psychology, Organizational Behaviour or other related field
  • Completion of (or progress towards) CHRP designation preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Possesses knowledge of relevant employee legislation including Employment Standards, and the Human Rights Code
  • High proficiency with HRIS software (e.g. Workday) and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong consulting, influencing, negotiation and organizational skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
  • Demonstrates a strong customer service orientation and is self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
