So let's talk about the role…
A Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the compensation function for the company. The compensation manager plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring through audits, legal reports and personal interactions that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations. This role is part of the Human Resources team.

Compensation Plan Management/Administration

Administers the company compensation programs and activities (executive, exempt, and nonexempt) to ensure alignment with the company objectives, business needs and company structure.

Designs and implements incentive and bonus programs across the organization; makes program recommendations to the business and analyzes program effectiveness.

Reviews market trends and provides change/improvement recommendations

Processes all bonus payments and provides oversight for the sales compensation program.

Models bonus allocations by organizations and jobs based on market to provide a standardized model.

Partners with all organizations with bonus/incentive programs to help enhance, automate and provide recommendations to ensure continuity across the company.

Performs day-to-day compensation-based activities to support the company and meet business objectives.

Manages and administers Workday (HRIS) compensation processes; reviews and approves promotions, reviews and approves new hires, sets up new job compensation structure, adds salary ranges and/or step rates, and audits compensation elements on job and team member records.

Manages and administers the day-to-day step rate compensation process; reviews daily increases and validates position date accuracy.

Makes compensation recommendations for new jobs and candidate job offers (internal and external).

Provides advice to department leaders and coaches on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation.

Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.

Participates and conducts exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure company compensation objectives are achieved; conducts various salary surveys such as Korn Ferry, NBWA, Pepsi, etc.

Conducts the annual market review; collects the results of the surveys and aligns to Andrews jobs, analyzes the market to jobs to determine the impact.

Manages and administers the annual merit process and step rate review process.

Keeps abreast of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.

Stays abreast of industry trends and makes recommendations to continually improve compensation processes.
Compensation Data Analysis, Reporting and Presentation

Analyzes internal and external compensation and provides timely and relevant updates by each organization and company.

Reviews base, incentive and total target compensation, including actuals and market.

Develops charts to depict the data clearly and provides recommendations as needed.

Conducts compensation benchmark studies as needed to research and update compensation plans and policies.

Prepares and submits legal and compliance documents/reports as required.

Prepares compensation-based presentations, and communications in support of current processes and improvement recommendations.
Collaboration Company and Human Resources Projects/Initiatives

Participates and collaborates in projects and initiatives as the compensation advisor and provides guidance to ensure alignment with compensation policies and processes.

Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and company objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to all departments.

Works collaboratively with HR Leaders to design, update and align compensations plans and policies to meet company strategy.

Stays abreast of industry trends and makes recommendations to continually improve compensation processes.

Here's what you must have to be considered for this role:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or Other Related Field

Five Plus Years of Progressively Responsible Experience in Compensation Administration Strong Financial and Business Acumen
-
Strong Background in Hourly Compensation Administration and Design
-
Strong Experience/Background in Sales Incentive Design
-
Advanced Market Analysis Experience; Understanding and Interpreting Large Data to Analyze and Provide Recommendations
-
Advanced Communication and Presentation Skills
-
Experience Managing Stakeholders and Building Relationships

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ability to maintain a sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time and operate computer equipment.

Ability to bend, stoop, and twist is required for filing and general office duties.

Exerts up to 10 lbs of force occasionally and/or negligible amount frequently to move office-related items or materials.

Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating via email and preparing reports and other forms of documentation using company and industry software.

Ability to speak, hear, and see is required to communicate with employees, and to operate computers and office machinery.

Hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation skills are necessary to operate computers and various office equipment.

Continual hand/wrist motion is required to operate computers and office machinery.
