The Director Learning and Development is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with business objectives. This role involves the creation and management of initiatives aimed at enhancing leadership, managerial, and technical skills across the organization. Additionally, the Director Learning and Development will address the diverse training needs of our In-office and in-market (mobile) workforce to meet business needs.

Learning and Development Strategy

Develops and implements a cohesive learning and development strategy that supports the company’s growth and business goals.

Identifies and implements business and technical skills training programs aimed at enhancing overall team member performance and productivity.

Fosters a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging team members at all levels to engage in personal and professional growth opportunities.

Champions a learning culture that values feedback, knowledge sharing, and continuous growth.

Stays abreast of learning and development industry trends and innovations to continually evolve and provide innovative training and team member development practices.Â
Learning and Development Program Development and Design

Designs, develops, and implements comprehensive soft skills, managerial and leadership development programs tailored to various levels within the organization.

Identifies, develops and implements technical and role-specific skills training programs aimed at enhancing overall employee performance and productivity.

Conducts regular assessments to identify and prioritize the training needs across different functions/departments, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Partners on learning and development needs in support of company initiatives.

Procures and manages cutting-edge technical training programs that ensure our team members are technology and innovation forward.

Oversees the execution of in-house training programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and relevance.

Promote a blended learning approach using e-learning, instructor-led training, job aids, and digital enablement tools.

Develop scalable, role-based learning paths and certification programs that support career progression.

Identifies, evaluates, and establishes partnerships with external training providers to complement internal training efforts.

Ensures a diverse range of training delivery methods, including mobile/virtual and in-person options, to cater to different learning preferences and role-specific requirements.

Evaluates the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the company/business.

Establishes and implements robust mechanisms for measuring the effectiveness of training programs, using feedback, performance metrics, and other key indicators.

Provides regular, detailed reports to senior leadership on the outcomes of training initiatives, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.

Facilitates collaborative discussions and training sessions by guiding participants, managing group dynamics, and fostering an inclusive environment to achieve desired outcomes.
Identifies and implements new training technologies and techniques to enhance learning outcomes and engagement.
Collaboration

Collaborates closely with senior leadership, HR, and departmental leaders to ensure that training initiatives are aligned with the company’s strategic direction and meet the specific needs of various teams.

Partners with cross-functional leaders to build training partners/SMEs teams in each hometown to act as training champions, advisors and training leads.

Collaborates with IT and other stakeholders to implement necessary changes and upgrades to the LMS and other learning technologies.

Collaborates with internal teams to assess training needs and gather feedback to refine training programs.

Works cross-functionally with various departments to understand their training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
Financial/Budget Management and Metrics

Manages and optimizes the learning and development budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions that do not compromise the quality of training.

Continuously monitors and reports on training expenditures, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Evaluates the return on investment (ROI) for all training programs and initiatives to ensure they contribute effectively to the company’s goals.
Team Coaching and Development

Manages a Learning and Development team ensuring proper training, development, performance coaching and evaluation.

Ensures all team members have the knowledge and tools needed to perform their job responsibilities.

Ensures all new team members are properly trained and coached for their individual roles.

Sets clear performance standards and coaches team member development. Â

Provides timely coaching and feedback to team members/peers.

Here's what you must have to be considered for this role:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or Other Related Field
-
Ten Plus Years Progressive Experience in Learning and Development, Including Developing Content Based On Core Adult Learning Theory and Methodology and Advanced Instructional Design Skills; At Least Five Years in a Leadership Role
-
Demonstrated Success In Developing and Implementing Effective Training Programs That Drive Organizational Performance

Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Capable of Building Strong Relationships with Stakeholders At All Levels
-
Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills; Advanced Presentation Abilities
-
Knowledge of Leadership and Managerial Development Practices
-
Strong Project Management and Organizational Skills, With the Ability to Handle Multiple Priorities Simultaneously.

Prior Learning Management System (LMS) Administration Experience
-
Strong Time Management, Organizational and Change Management Skills
Here's what we hope you will have:

Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or Other Related Field
-
Advanced Technical Skills; MS Office and Authoring Tools; Knowledge of e-Learning Authoring Tools for Creating Online Training Content (Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Prezi, etc.)

Three to Five Years Sales, Distribution or Supply Chain experience; preferably in Retail or CPG
-
CPLP, APTD, SHRM and/or Other Training Industry Related Professional Certification
-
Bilingual, English and Spanish

Previous Workday HRIS Experience

Previous Supervisory Experience
