The Workday Financial Applications Manager is responsible for supporting accounting and finance strategies through an integrated approach to collecting, storing, analyzing, and optimizing the flow of accounting and financials data throughout the organization. This role participates in the design, build, and execution of the financials application (Workday) administration, data integrity, data analysis, consultation, and reporting that supports business needs and financials areas of accounting, procurement, expenses, banking & settlements, financial planning. This role works cross-functionally throughout the organization and serves as a subject-matter expert to evaluate, analyze, develop, and maintain the Workday Financials module.

Leads the development and implementation of Workday Financials strategies, initiatives and processes working directly with business leaders and end users to assess business needs and translate those needs into effective solutions that align with business and project initiatives.

Identifies operational/functional objectives for business projects by gathering information, evaluating requirements and solutions, authoring functional specifications, and translating ambiguous business problems into recommended concrete data and information solutions.

Assesses the feasibility of systems enhancements or process changes and their impact on the financials application and ancillary systems.

Anticipates and plans for long-term financial application needs and trends.
-
Leads meetings to perform analysis of change requests and/or recommendations and translates into proper system requirements.

Analyzes business requirements and develops or modifies programs to ensure effective storage, retrieval and reporting of team member data.

Fosters and maintains positive relationships with business leaders and users; and external customers and third-party vendors.

Acts as financial applications subject-matter expert for the organization.

Negotiates, selects and manages all contracted, third party support.

Participates in industry events and education to continually enhance expertise and knowledge.
Leads and manages all aspects of the planning, project management, change management, administration, security, maintenance, data integrity, development, testing, implementation, reporting and user support for the financials application (Workday).

Designs, implements, and monitors financial application programs and policies including Accounting Center, AR/AP, Banking & Settlements, FDM, Procurement, Projects, Suppliers, etc.

Utilizes tools provided to develop comprehensive project plan, proactively define and resolve issues that impede progress on projects, and effectively communicates project status.

Documents standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and implements process improvements.

Documents functional business requirements, troubleshoots application problems and promotes proactive approaches for using FIS capabilities to provide functionality to meet business needs and improve finance operations.

Documents FIS processes to ensure accurate and efficient documentation is available.

Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools; and maintaining security and integrity controls.

Supports the development of custom reports to meet the requirements and business needs of the organization.

Provides the organization with FIS subject-matter expertise.

Works with internal audit partners, end users and IT to ensure SOX compliance by developing auditing processes to ensure data integrity and system accuracy.

Ensures the integrity of FIS databases and provides FIS systems support.

Collaborates with the IT team in support of finance systems, applications, databases and devices.

Collaborates with Payroll team to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processes.

Leads the development of required Workday training.

Develops and tracks system and operational metrics; reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Oversees, provides direction and manages the FIS team; and performs FIS (Workday) administration and support work as required to meet business needs.

Allocates work required to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Workday processes.

Provides support, troubleshooting, and training to end users on features and functionality of FIS system to enhance knowledge and skills.

Assists departments/teams with technical issues related to the use of FIS system.

Assists departments/teams in the creation of financial reports and queries to select and compile information from the FIS system as needed.

Performs user administration, security role setups and workflow maintenance for business applications as required to support business needs.

Develops annual department budget; manages and tracks department expenses on a monthly basis.

Establishes and tracks departmental metrics; reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Keeps abreast of federal, state and local laws and regulations to ensure company compliance from a FIS systems perspective.

Participates in industry events and education to continually enhance FIS systems and operations expertise and knowledge.

Here’s what you must have to be considered for this role…

Five Years of Progressively Responsible Workday Financials Experience, Administration and Management
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Technology; or Equivalent Field or Work Experience
-
Five to Nine Years Progressively Responsible Finance or FIS Management Experience
-
Five to Nine Years of Experience Managing and/or Implementing multiple financial (Workday) Related Projects
-
Strong Understanding and Experience Driving Business Strategy and Leadership Engagement
-
Strong Interpersonal Skills With the Ability to Work Collaboratively on a Team and With All Levels of Leadership
