We are seeking a hard-working, innovative, detail-oriented, and creative team player to join our payroll department as a full-time Sr. Payroll Specialist located in Provo, Utah. The individual we are looking for is also someone that enjoys working in a team environment but also excels working at an individual level.

Location: Utah, USA. Hybrid/In-person options available

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist HR with employee setup, maintenance, and time tracking in the company’s Payroll & HRIS software.

  • Calculate and enter hours, bonuses, commission, and other methods of compensation when necessary.

  • Answer employees’ questions and concerns regarding payroll.

  • Audit and verify accuracy of payroll data entry.

  • Assist department supervisors with employee promotions, terminations, and other payroll-related changes.

  • Carefully maintain and distribute payroll reports and records as requested.

  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.

  • Enter and maintain employee garnishments in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Assist the Payroll Manager with any other payroll-related tasks.

  • Analyze compensation-related data including wages and bonuses

  • Oversee payroll transactions

  • Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records

  • Design, document, and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes

  • Manage payment calendars for the fiscal year

  • Report to management on payroll issues and changes

  • Answer employees’ questions about salaries and tax

  • Stay up-to-date on state and federal payroll and tax laws


  • Education: Prefer a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related experience

  • Experience: Payroll (5 years Minimum Preferred) 

Required Skills:

  • Must have the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality. 

  • Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with others.

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel or related software.

  • Proficient with the ability to quickly learn payroll software.  

  • Experience with WorkDay payroll is a very strong plus.
