Job Summary

This position supervises the processing of Enterprise payroll, taxes, deductions, and other related earnings. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of payroll and the related analysis and auditing necessary for accurate payment of employees including accurate tax, withholding, and benefit filings and payments. This position is responsible for monitoring compliance changes, new payroll regulations and updating payroll processes accordingly. The Supervisor Payroll will also be responsible for researching tax requirements for any new state and local tax jurisdictions and ensuring accuracy for processing in current HR/PR system as well as 3rd party tax software. The incumbent works directly with all areas of the Enterprise, internal and external auditors, tax, and government agencies.

Requirements

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

Master’s degree preferred.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Certified Payroll Professional preferred.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a professional accounting experience OR applicable Masters in related field with minimum three (3) years’ experience.
Minimum five (5) years’ analysis of financial data is required.
Minimum two (2) years’ Payroll experience is preferred.

Workday payroll and time keep experience is preferred.

Demonstrated success as an individual contributor in current or related operational/functional area. Exhibits ability to coach and train others; possesses organizational and planning skills. May have team leader experience.

Working knowledge of automated financial systems and data processing.

Knowledge of the current financial systems including GP Dynamics, MetaViewer, and SSRS reporting.

Responsibilities

Controls and reviews EIB components into Workday. Reviews the pay results to further ascertain accuracy., Documents and implements all changes required for payroll processing in Workday. Implements all changes required regarding new tax jurisdictions and rates in both Workday and 3rd Party Tax Software., Gathers and disseminates data requests for reports requested by Financial Services., Maintains accurate records to support both payroll accounting and tax requirements., Makes recommendations to the Manager for changes in operating procedures, workload, and other activities as needed., Participates in all corporate audit activity., Prepares input data for the corporate budget processes., Reviews account analysis for the financial statements monthly; maintaining control for adjustments required in the following period., Reviews all documentation provided by various external agencies and government bureaus to insure consistency., Reviews all internal / external payroll reports on a timely basis as required., Reviews journal entries for each payroll cycle., Reviews variance analysis in accordance with payroll processing guidelines., Supervises the hiring, coaching/training, employee development and performance management of assigned team. , Supervises the payroll process following formal and documented methodologies. Coordinates, controls, and reviews input into Workday for completeness and accuracy.
