Position Overview: The Finance Manager will be primarily responsible for supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities for the Braves Development Company (BDC), including the annual budget, strategic planning, monthly forecasting and reporting, profitability analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Financial Analysis and Decision Support

  • Communicate and advise Management on key metrics, drivers, risks, and opportunities
  • Partner with business leaders by providing value-added financial analysis as needed

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly Management reporting package
  • Provide detailed variance analysis to forecasts, budgets, and prior year periods
  • Partner with BDC accounting team to ensure accuracy of financial information

Financial Modeling:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making
  • Prepare cash flow statements and forecasts
  • Conduct scenario and contract analysis

Forecasting, Budgeting and Strategic Planning

  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop, validate, and submit monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic plans (operating, capital, and personnel)
  • Prepare presentations to review forecasts, budget, and strategic plan with Management

Special Projects

  • Participate in process improvement and productivity projects to drive continuous enhancements in the finance functional area
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Support the baseball and corporate FP&A activities assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of accounting, finance, or financial management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; MBA a plus
  • Comprehensive understanding of real estate financial concepts, strategic planning, and accounting principles (GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, public company reporting requirements)
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing people
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work with complex data
  • Advanced modeling and Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Able to work independently and complete tasks on time and with minimal oversight
  • Yardi, Workday Financials, and Workday Adaptive Planning experience and system knowledge a plus
