Purpose of Role

As a Workday Team Leader you are responsible for leading the Workday HCM function. You will be working closely with the Enterprise Applications Manager, Business Partners, other Workday Team Leads, People Operations Managers and Shared Services Team Leads in delivering a streamlined user experience leveraging on the different capabilities of the Workday platform and implementing the IT Vision, Strategy & Priorities.

Key responsibilities

Your impact will be seen by:

  • Having a detailed understanding of the People processes inside and outside Workday.
  • Being accountable for the analysis, design, construction & delivery of different Workday HCM modules¬†
  • Working with management to build and implement solutions in line with the business strategies
  • Setting in place review and audit procedures
  • Ensuring that individual and team KPIs and SLAs are achieved
  • Resource Capability & Capacity Planning: Managing workflow and resources to optimise value for clients
  • Actively working with stakeholders to seek improvements and help streamline the People process through Workday HCM.
  • Anticipating hurdles and have contingency plans to circumvent them

People Management

  • Deliver application support and development capability, and ensure succession planning
  • Manage Training and Performance Development focusing on each team member
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement & continuously develop team capabilities to strengthen understanding of business need
  • Act and liaise with team members to resolve any matters that arise relating to performance on a timely manner

Operations / Delivery Management

  • Identify and deliver requirements for development and operations, adapting agile ways of working and strategizing to manage backlog
  • Ensure individual & team KPIs and SLAs are achieved
  • Resource capacity and capability management for application
  • Establish a culture of flexibility and adaptability to varying shift requirements and operation hours in order to fulfil real time business requirements
  • Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality requirements relating to People activities and ensure the teams compliance of these requirements

Product Management

  • Ensure application is properly managed and fit for purpose
  • Work with stakeholders to streamline business processes and address business problems through application solutions

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with business stakeholders for delivery of approved work in People systems
  • Ensure effective communication between stakeholders and the Workday HCM team

  • Works under broad direction and is often self-initiated
  • Is fully accountable for meeting allocated technical and/or project/supervisory objectives. Establishes milestones and has asignificant role in the delegation of responsibilities.
