SUPERVISES:  Training Manager (Non-technical), Organizational Development Manager

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive organizational development strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
  • Partner with senior leaders and key stake holders to identify and address organization development needs, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Lead strategic discussion with business and HR leaders to assess future skill requirements and develop appropriate talent development strategies to aid the business in acquiring the requisite skills and capabilities.
  • Assess systematic barriers to organizational change and develop plans to overcome challenges, including the development of mentoring and coaching programs, and career development programs/opportunities.
  • Provide oversight and support of individual development planning for senior leaders and emerging leaders.
  • Design and deliver programs and initiatives that support employee development, talent management, and succession planning, including performance management and development of talent profiles, and monitor and report on program progress.
  • Lead cultural transformation initiatives and foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies to support organizational change initiatives, including communication plans, training programs, and employee engagement activities.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on development of talent pipeline strategy that ensures future talent needs are met, and a continuous flow of candidates is established.
  • Collaborate with HR and other cross-functional teams to ensure that organizational initiatives are integrated with other HR programs and processes.
  • Act as a Compliance Champion for the organization and work to promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  • Support business unit Tier 1 Compliance Lead in responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • BA in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Leadership, Training, Education, or related field preferred.  MA/MS or equivalent in Organizational Development or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources, organizational development, training, recruiting, or a combination thereof with at least 7 years of demonstrated experience in planning, developing, implementing, and administering organizational development and training programs; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience.
  • Relevant certifications preferred, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, APTD, CPTD, or similar.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Workday HCM and Learning module a plus.
  • Possess an extremely high attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience with public speaking and making presentations to large groups. 
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with leadership on setting strategic goals and tracking reporting progress against these goals and collaborating across all levels of an organization, including analyzing information, identifying needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting recommendations/results.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams.
  •   Strong business acumen and an ability to set and implement strategies, actions, and plans in support of strategic objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with benchmarking, strategic data analysis, predictive modeling, and forecasting.
  • Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products with strong experience with Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision

DIRECTION EXERCISED:  Full discretionary authority to assign work to Organizational Development and Learning staff.  Works independently to deliver work products against aggressive deadlines.  Escalates complex issues to Vice President, Human Resources as appropriate.

DISCRETION EXERCISED:  Will be expected to work with a wide degree of creativity and latitude while navigating through ambiguous situations to meet goals and objectives.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

LIASES WITH:  Employees and management at all levels across the entire organization as well as vendors, contractors, and consultants, U.S. Navy/U.S. Coast Guard/Maritime Industrial Base, and community and industry organizations and leaders.
