We are looking for a pro-active HR Advisor to join us and provide operational and strategic support to our team. This is a particularly exciting time to join as we are currently undergoing a phase of transformation as we move towards a truly pro-active and supportive HR function. 

This is a superb opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a broad range of activities including Recruitment, Onboarding, Employee Life Cycle, Offboarding as well as supporting the local and EMEA HR teams and Senior Management within the UK.  

The role will report to the HR Manager UKI and will be based at our offices in Hertford with particular responsibility for our warehouses in Tur Langton and Sutton Bridge. The role is eligible for hybrid working.  

The main activities will include: 

Recruitment 

Manage the local recruitment process including sourcing candidates, attending interviews as HR representative, advising on selection process and arranging onboarding.  

Set up online assessments, analyse and provide the results to the hiring manager.  

Employee Relations  

First point of contact for employees based at Hertford, Tur Langton and Sutton Bridge.  

Organise and supervise the inductions of new employees & offboarding leavers.  

Advise management and employees on employment law, HR policies & processes, training, etc.  

Support Managers with employee requests e.g. flexible working, HR concerns etc. 

Payroll & HR Administration and Compliance 

Absence management liaising with Managers, carrying out remedial action and managing any PHI claims. 

Manage all benefits including pensions, company car fleet administration, insurance etc. 

Manage Living wage foundation compliance including annual reporting requirements. 

 Training & Development   

Support the HR Manager in implementing the most appropriate training and development programs;  

Provide training to Managers and Employees on HR process e.g. performance management, Workday processes.  Provide guidance and support on the use of HR systems. 

Administration of the Apprenticeship portal and managing Employment Levy funds 

Organise driver training where appropriate. 

Skills and Experience 

CIPD Qualified 

Min. 2 years of relevant working experience   

Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and direction;  

Highly organised, able to work well under stress, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines;  

Prior experience with HR Information Systems (e.g. Workday);  

Discretion and accuracy;
