Job Description:

Under direct supervision, the HR Specialist will directly support and coordinate activities supporting the full-lifecycle recruitment and onboarding activities for a defined area. 

Such activities may include: researching and justifying the implementation of creative sourcing strategies, coordinating job fairs, ensuring job postings are optimized and adhere to brand standards, completing onboarding tasks such as background checks, reference checks, employee health screenings and other administrative tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes data entry (HRIS) notifications, and processes new hires, status changes, transfers, etc.

  • Assists recruitment with posting new and replacement positions, and maintains the posting as needed.

  • Triages applicant calls for recruiters. Pre-screens applications, and schedules candidate interviews.

  • Fills in for recruiters occasionally when the recruiters are out of the office.

  • Process all post-offer/pre-employment drug screens. Updates Employee Health spreadsheets.

  • Coordinates with other departments, and prepares materials in advance for orientation.

  • Oversees compliance of the new hires on the day of orientation.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Required:

  • Associates degree required. In lieu of a degree, a combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

  • One or more years of experience as an HR Specialist or department administrative support role.

  • Very strong computer skills, and experience using MS Office software – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint specifically required.

  • Database management skills.

  • Must have strong detail orientation and accuracy is a must.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Workday experience is preferred.
