Title:  General Ledger Close Support Accountant – Analyst

Business Unit: Corporate Accounting

Job Summary

The General Ledger Close Support – Analyst will assist in completing accounting period close and Workday report writing processes.  This position will be a part of the Global Controller’s Group, reporting to the Director of Financial Information Systems, and based in our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly general ledger close processes in an efficient and effective manner; collaborate closely with global stakeholders and systems support team
  • Support cross-functional team communication
  • Maintain efficiency-focused mindset, aimed at improving/automating the existing global period close process
  • Conduct walk-throughs of existing corporate accounting processes, identify internal control opportunities, and deliver documentation of the complete business procedures
  • Contribute to the Workday Report Writing team
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • CPA or equivalent preferred or on track
  • Deadline-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables
  • Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, ambitious problem-solver
  • Excellent communication skills focused on collaboration and teamwork
  • Forward-thinking leader for various regional stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with Workday Financials and/or Adaptive Planning a plus
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
