Title:Â Senior Associate, U.S. Accounting and Reporting

Job Summary
Corporate Accounting is seeking a Senior Associate. This position will support the month-end close process, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting related matters. The position will reside in our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries, including general accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, ASC 842 lease accounting, and incentive compensation
- Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and flux analyses
- Assist in the preparation of various monthly and quarterly presentations
- Convert/upload monthly consolidated trial balance to parent company’s general ledger
- Utilize disclosure management tool to prepare financials and presentations
- Assist in the preparation of external audited financials for consolidated Barings and other Barings subsidiaries (as assigned), which includes preparation of face financial statements and accompanying footnotes
- Maintain auditable documentation of prepared financial statements for audit
- Interact with external auditors during interim and year end
- Partner with FP&A for forecasting and business unit reporting needs
- Assist in ad-hoc projects, as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Masters in Accounting is preferred
- CPA with public accounting experience is preferred
- 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel
- Experience with Workday a plus
- Experience with Workiva a plus
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills used for the collection and communication of information
- Self-motivated; able to work independently and communicate effectively across company locations and organizational lines
- Be open to change, and when required, embrace change
- Demonstrated success in implementing accounting and financial review process improvements
