The Workday Technical Analyst is a new role at BDO which has arisen from the requirement for Workday specialist knowledge across the Workday platform, covering all modules and configuration.

Reporting to the Workday Technical Lead, you will provide Workday technical and architecture support to the Workday Team across the Workday platform.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following capabilities:

• Finance/PSA/Payroll/HR (Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, Learning, Time Tracking & Absence Management)
• Configuration, Integrations, Reporting and Analytics, Business Process Configuration, Custom validations, Authentication and Security, Tenant Configuration & User Experience

You'll also:

• Work with the Workday Technical Lead on the design, development, configuration, testing and support of integrations using Workday Studio Developer, Core connectors, RaaS Integrations, Enterprise Interface Building (EIB), Workday Complex Calculated Fields, Web Services, Workday Custom Reports, XSLT and xPath
• Drive consistency and standards across design, development and support for the technical elements of Workday
• Work with other integration teams, including third parties and other IT teams such as the architecture, internal applications and infrastructure teams
• Collaborating with other application Architects and Developer to provide technical design guidance to align with strategy and applicable technical standards
• Responsible for setting up ISU (integration system users) & ISSG (integration system security groups) and configuring API authentication methods like basic, SAML, X509 & OAuth with external 3rs party providers
• Configure Workday Domain and Business Process Security Policies across all functional areas and create, edit & assign security groups as per Business requirements
• Provide security input into planning for future operating model and act as point for consultation for the rest of the Workday team to discuss security implications for key changes
• Creating worklets, menu reports, and the attaching the external links to dashboards
• Participate in Workday twice-yearly release review and testing by identifying impact/enhancement opportunities associated with a new release features/functionality
• Serve as a strong technical consultative partner to HR & Finance teams in supporting HCM / Financials and PSA in Workday and related connected system systems
• Be a subject matter expert on Workday technical configuration and options relating to integrations and technical elements of Workday
• Work closely with business leads, SMEs, senior managers and teams in understanding, documenting, and interpreting requirements
• Work closely with BDO Workday teams, and external vendors where appropriate, to translate requirements into system solutions / designs
• Translate new requirements and functionality into solution designs which are documented and approved by the necessary design authority prior to implementation
• Keep up to date with trends and impacts and be active in the Workday community and beyond – raise and vote on brainstorms etc
• Translate technical requirements to internal and third-party support teams to enable greater understanding
• Input on design and system configuration in line with best practice, across Workday and the wider ecosystem
• Work with testing team and perform testing to validate and implement integration and technical level changes in Workday
• Support the Workday Product Managers and support teams to deliver change as a result of ‘break fix’
• Support the SSC team and relevant processes, providing input when questions or issues arise
• Support the Workday team in ensuring continuous improvement and business benefit

You will work closely with the Workday team, as well as all PMD (support) and business streams, on support, project and change activities.

You’ll be someone with:

• The ability to accurately collect and clearly document information in order to understand and assess the needs and situation
• Experience and understanding of HR and finance business processes
• Knowledge and experience of cross functional working on both HR and finance processes (understanding touchpoints) an advantage
• Experience of using/supporting Workday PSA an advantage
• Experience of working on the end-to-end implementations of Workday Financials/PSA/Payroll and HCM Cloud transformation programmes & supporting post implementation.
• Experience with highly complex inbound, outbound, boomerang & cross functional integrations between Finance, PSA, HR , Payroll & external systems using Workday tools
• Working knowledge of Workday Studio Development
• Working knowledge of Workday Core Connectors, EIB, RaaS, and Web Services
• Working knowledge of SOAP/REST API’s, XML , XSLT and JSON
• Workday integrations experience required with a good understanding of integration design and testing concepts and integration frameworks (e.g., middleware, transformation logic).
• Working knowledge of complex reporting including creating/maintaining calculated fields
• Working knowledge of BIRT
• Experience in Workday Authentication Administration including Multi-Factor Authentication, SSO using SAML and Workday Mobile
• Comprehensive security knowledge covering encryption technologies, application security, network architectures, communications security, security technologies, authentication methodologies etc
• Data conversion concepts and impacts on business processes (such as Workday EIBS/iLoads or bulk data loading)
• Knowledge of all phases of system development lifecycle, including production support
