The Benefits Coordinator supports the Retirement team in the administration, governance, and compliance of the defined benefit pension program. Must possess experience in retirement plan administration, record-keeping and ability to interpret plan documents. Experience with qualified pension plans is desired. Must possess keen research skills, analytical/mathematical skills, and attention to detail.

Job Functions

  • Responsible for the administration of the pension plan in accordance with plan documents, federal and state laws, to include the interpretation of benefit programs and procedures.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and empathy while handling complex case issues.
  • Helps to ensure compliance of pension administration activities with SOX requirements.
  • Works with beneficiaries and estate executors to settle death benefit proceeds.
  • Provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of retirement benefits to ensure efficient administration of defined benefit plan. Manages assigned projects, engaging internal and external resources to ensure timely completion.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Entry Level

Minimum Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent years of experience

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. 

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-5 years relevant benefits, HR or payroll experience preferred
  • Workday experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Advanced organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
