Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Director of Financial Systems, the Business Systems Analyst I will work with functional leads across departments to support and enhance the University’s suite of Workday Financial Management applications including procurement, general accounting and ledger, payroll and Adaptive Planning. This role is responsible for developing reports and maintaining data and reporting in support of business needs, as well as developing them for various parts of the business, ensuring the integrity of the data provided. Additional responsibilities will include assisting in the monitoring and testing of Workday updates as it relates to Workday Finance, consulting with end users and the IT department to troubleshoot any technology issues within the division.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for the development of operational and analytical reports for end users.

  • Check and validate published reports for consistency, accuracy and general quality control during software, hardware and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Assist in communication and resolution when issues occur.

  • Assist in testing of new systems, upgrades of existing systems; plan, conduct and document results of testing.

  • Advises users requiring assistance in solving complex problems or issues.

  • Assist in developing a formal and well-documented tracking process for ongoing and outstanding requests and issues that includes communication to appropriate end users.

  • Act as back-up for Workday Student charge configuration and assist in the maintenance and support of CASHNet, our credit card processing system

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in financial data management with strong information systems knowledge and ability to maximize use of reporting tools

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data validation and analysis including the development of macros.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, set priorities to manage multiple demands, and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday Financials and/or Adaptive Planning

Work Environment

  • Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work

  • Ability to travel around campus for meetings and other work related events
