Job Description Summary
The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs (OVPSA) is responsible for creating frameworks, policies, and processes that are used by all departments in the division to deliver an innovative and transformative experience for our undergraduate students. In addition, OVPSA staff ensures that divisional initiatives continue to extend learning outside-of-the-classroom and create a sense of connection and belonging for every undergraduate student.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Projects and Communication, the Business Systems position is responsible for nine enterprise applications and several non-enterprise applications. These enterprise systems provide cross-functional coordination and integration of data to support critical business decisions and functions that would represent high transition costs and/or contain sensitive information. In addition, these systems store or transmit Level 1 Data. The Business Systems position will utilize Information Technology systems to help achieve strategic business goals. Design and develop new systems by configuring new hardware and software or use existing systems in new ways to accomplish additional or different outcomes.
Essential Duties

Responsible to support Information Technology applications managed by Student Affairs including Enterprise and Data Level 1 Applications including but not limited to StarRez (Housing), ARMS (Police), ARMS (Athletics), Campus Groups, ISSM, iModules (with Advancement) Medicat, RAVE and Titanium

System knowledge and configuration, vendor engagement, contract renewal in conjunction with procurement, vendor upgrades, trouble shooting, reporting assistance, documentation, business continuity planning and SA staff training as needed

Student Affairs Point person for Workday reporting

Serves as point person for Student Affairs to liaison with Information Technology on system integrations, maintenance and upgrades; represents Student Affairs on several Information Technology related committees

Consulting with management and users to determine the needs of the system

Designing a system to meet the business goals; Specifying inputs and formatting outputs to meet users’ needs

Developing specifications, diagrams and flowcharts for implementers to follow

Overseeing implementation, coordinating tests, and observing initiation of the system to validate performance

Facilitate interface and data flow between primary SIS (Workday) and software programs mentioned above

Serve as key user for report creation and data maintenance for Division of Student Affairs

Identify areas of efficiency and streamline technological processes to result in smoother functionality for users

Follow alerts for upgrades to software and proactively schedule periodic required maintenance

Liaise with project managers in Information Technology to advocate for Student Affairs needs in the broader context of Information Technology projects
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related work experience

Master’s Degree and experience in higher education systems preferred

Attention to detail, ability to manage ongoing and multiple responsibilities, and strong work-ethic

Passion for working in a fast-paced and dynamic department as an active and engaged team member.

Experience in multicultural settings, diversity training programs, second language fluency, or coursework in multicultural perspectives is desirable.
