Job Description:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Analytics, the Enrollment and Student Data Analyst conducts routine and ad-hoc reporting to/for various offices on campus, including but not limited to admissions, enrollment, student outcomes including persistence-to-graduation, financial aid, finance, and other data needed to facilitate strategic and operational decision-making.

Job duties:

  • Perform quantitative analysis tasks in MS Excel, Tableau Desktop, and/or other analysis tools.
  • Query or extract data from databases and other data files to create datasets for analysis.
  • Perform data integrity and quality assurance processes.
  • Create custom datasets to transmit to external research partners.
  • Assist with the management of self-service analytics, modifying access and permissions to Tableau Cloud-based reports and dashboards.
  • Document processes to increase efficiency and facilitate cross-training of the Enrollment Analytics team.
  • Interpret data, summarize insights, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Support the AVP and managers in Enrollment Analytics with capacity-expanding projects.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Major, minor, or significant coursework in one of the following fields: computer/information science, business, business analytics, economics, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics
  • Experience with querying, cleaning, manipulating, and/or transforming data from relational databases
  • Experience with creating data visualizations
  • Experience drawing inferences or conclusions from data
  • Knowledge of at least one of these programming languages: SQL, R, Python, SPSS, SAS, STATA, or DAX
  • Familiarity with the higher education industry

Preferences:

  • Experience with any of the following SIS/CRM platforms: Colleague, Salesforce, PowerCampus, PowerFaids, Workday Student
  • Experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep Builder, Tableau Cloud, and/or Tableau Server
  • Direct experience working in a higher education institution, particularly in institutional research, admissions, enrollment management, student affairs, or advising.
  • Experience working in a non-profit setting
  • Familiarity with performing arts or performing arts education
