Senior Workday Payroll Analyst

JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the company’s multi-state payroll, processing and management of garnishments, preparation of funding, and reporting and reconciling of payroll taxes.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete payroll operations (payroll processing and garnishments ) and payroll tax (multi-state and federal payroll tax) functions to ensure all payroll processes and responsibilities are accurately achieved, completed in a timely manner and are in compliance with federal and state regulations, including payment processing, payroll tax and garnishment and internal controls and processes.

  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures and maintain payroll disaster recovery methodology.

  • Partner with Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Equity, Finance and Accounting teams to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of reporting and data integrity.

  • Complete payroll project plans and schedules relating to ongoing enterprise-wide and internal enhancement projects.

  • Accountable for audit and compliance support, service delivery excellence, and governance with key business partners to support the design, implementation and operational delivery of optimized payroll processes and enabling continuous improvement of the employee/customer experience.

  • Documents and maintains administrative processes and procedures and proactively seeks out ways to improve and streamline processes.

  • Work closely with Benefits to ensure accurate pay for employees on or recently returned from a leave of absence.

  • Assists with internal and external audits, including preparing documents for auditors and maintaining controls and documentation throughout the process.

  • Keep updated on industry trends and regulatory developments.

  • Reconcile bi-weekly payroll tax reporting, quarterly wage reports and validate all W2 data.

  • Researches and resolves all matters pertaining to payroll correspondence including tax and Garnishments inquiries.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employee population responding to payroll inquiries as needed, as well as with governmental agencies, internal and external auditors, vendors, and HR business partners.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other related degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. 

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Broad knowledge of payroll principles, practices, processes, and procedures

  • Advanced knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll laws

  • Ability to perform advanced functions in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with payroll-related compliance and reporting requirements required

  • Significant experience implementing, using, and administering payroll systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft).  Experience with Workday strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical and project management skills with ability to effectively plan, organize, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality in a dynamic environment.

  • Displays strategic thinking and good judgment when faced with complex or difficult situations and decisions.

  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within Black Knight or outside the organization (executives, regulators, clients, etc.)

  • Results oriented, business focused, and successful at interfacing across multiple organizational units

  • Strong client service mentality, with ability to develop strong working relationships with team, internal partners, and vendors to deliver high quality service consistently in a professional manner

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of non-public employee personal information, including compensation, benefits, and payroll information

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Payroll Analyst III

Senior professional role demonstrating extensive payroll knowledge, skill, and proficiency.  Leads multiple, complex, payroll projects or participates as subject matter expert.  Works independently with only administrative supervision and the ability to overcome major obstacles and recognize early when issues should be escalated or an expert needs to be consulted.  Wide latitude for independent judgment and is expected to provide guidance and cross training to others.  Effectively communicates with all levels of personnel.  Coaches and mentors more junior staff.  Responsible for working with various state agencies to resolve tax notices within specified time frames.  Performs internal audits of payroll functions to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all payroll activities.  This level is expected to be a subject matter expert on payroll tax and support activities.  Typically requires nine (9) or more years of payroll experience processing bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for 5,000 or more employees.  Extensive knowledge of payroll operations and Federal, State, and Local payroll laws required.  Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation strongly preferred.

Although target pay range may vary by work location, a representative pay range is: $70,310 – $96,670. Eligible to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance and disability insurance, 401(k) plan and employee stock purchase plan. Eligible to participate in the discretionary annual performance bonus.
