POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for someone interested and passionate about learning and working with sophisticated HR technology and systems, that enables and empowers our employees.

The HR Technology student will have a significant impact in improving the digital transformation fo HR and growing end user adoption of BlackBerry’s HR technology solution. This role provides an outstanding view into the many functionalities of HR from a technological perspective. This student will be given an in-depth exposure to the powerful Workday HRIS tool used by BlackBerry. Responsibilities include assessing and integrating new features and projects within the Workday HRIS system, assessing and resolving existing issues, conducting data and process maintenance within Workday, and presenting updates and progress regarding HRIS projects to partners. This is a project-based role in support of some exciting new initiatives we are rolling out! These improvements will increase our benefit realization, value creation, return on investment and the achievement of results and outcomes.

Length of Term: 4 Months

What you’ll do:

  • Gain an understanding of BlackBerry’s HR culture, processes and systems to ensure that the operational resources and support you will develop align with BlackBerry values

  • Familiarize yourself with the BlackBerry’s sophisticated HRIS and Recruitment Management System, Workday

  • Participate in the assessment and testing of new features and develop support materials in response to the needs of the business

  • Participate and support in HRIS projects by detailing partner needs, assisting in the maintenance of project documentation, and sending updates to internal teams or management throughout the process

  • Other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience using an HRIS system (preferably Workday)

  • Project/program management experience, preferably in an HR environment

  • A confident student who displays a willingness to learn, and forward-thinking attitude

  • Strong research, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and balance multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Possess a passion and ability to learn new concepts, methodologies, and tools

  • Be results oriented, committed and persistent to carry out assigned duties

  • Demonstrates professional business etiquette, while handling stressful situations

  • Strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge, and effective written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree completed or in progress in Business Administration/Management, HR Management, Organizational Behaviour Studies or Technology
