Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our HR Operations team and has a new opportunity for a Supervisor Compensation. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring fair and competitive compensation practices within our organization. This position will participate in the development of and supervise the implementation and administration of compensation programs, ensuring alignment with company goals, market best practices, industry standards, and legal requirements.

Compensation
$93,760 – $111,000
Exempt Grade 17
- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
What you’ll do
- Assist in developing and supervising the implementation of compensation programs aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring market competitiveness and fairness.
- Conduct regular benchmarking and market research to assess the competitiveness of compensation packages, providing recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Lead the job evaluation process to establish clear job classifications, levels, and salary grades based on job responsibilities, market data, internal career framework and internal equity.
- Manage salary programs, including annual salary structure and merit planning, merit processing, promotions, and adjustments, to ensure consistency and equity across the organization.
- Assist in designing and implementing, and administering incentive programs such as bonuses, commissions, and long-term incentive plans, driving performance and alignment with business goals.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation, recommending policy and program changes as necessary.
- Supervise the development and maintenance of compensation-related metrics, reports, and dashboards to track key performance indicators and provide insights to stakeholders.
- Help educate people leaders and employees on compensation programs, policies, and practices, fostering understanding and engagement.
- Lead or participate in special projects ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with company and compensation objectives.
What you need
- Bachelor's degree or 5 years related experience.
- 5+ years direct experience in compensation analysis, design, and administration.
- Deep understanding of compensation principles, practices, and regulations, with a focus on market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and fairness in all compensation-related matters.
Bonus if you have
- Professional certification (e.g., CCP, PHR, SPHR.
- Experience with Workday and compensation management systems.
