Job Description

The Associate Director, HR Analytics will serve as the HR analytics expert, providing data and insights that help to inform business decisions as well as serve as a key partner on our Employee Listening Strategy by overseeing our survey strategy, rollout and analysis. Under the direction of the Sr. Director Workforce Technology & Enterprise Data Management, the core functional responsibilities of this position will include: driving the strategic direction of the function, helping define and promote our data-driven approach to sustaining and enhancing our culture, managing the HR Analytics team and providing detailed HR analysis as requested by Senior Leadership and our Chief People Officer. 

 

This person will have an excellent understanding of HR Analytics, including identifying trends, the ability to synthesize complex data from multiple sources, identify patterns and recommend additional analyses. This individual will have top notch communication skills and the ability to translate data finding into actionable recommendations in a written format.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the Sr. Director of Workforce Technology & Enterprise Data Management to design and manage the strategy, goals and priorities for the HR Analytics team to align with organizational needs

  • Performs complex analysis using HR data including but not limited to Workday HCM data, facilities data, hiring data, and external HR benchmarking data

  • Oversees the HR Survey strategy as a part of our larger Employee Listening & Culture of Safety initiatives including both internal surveys and third party survey management

  • Works closely with leaders in HR functional groups (e.g., diversity, learning and development, recruiting, total rewards) and other stakeholders (the Institute’s administrative and scientific leaders) using expertise, collaboration and data analysis to understand our people processes, identify data needs, gather requirements and analyze data to drive improvement and build tools that help inform decision making.

  • Clearly communicates statistical analyses, results, and implications to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Partners wit the Sr. Director and CPO to create business artifacts that summarize complex analysis including memos, slide presentations etc.

  • Identifies, implements and acts as the ongoing owner and manager of all third party People Analytics services

  • Ability to run and interpret Workday reports independently and merge the data with other HR data sources

  • Strong hands-on manager with the ability to manage a small team, multiple projects and work with stakeholders of all levels across the organization

  • Participates on the Data Governance Council as an expert in the HR Analytics space

  • Key contributor to Human Capital Planning Process

Requirements:

  • Must Have:

    • B.A or B.S. in HR,  Information Management, Business Analytics or related fields.

    • 5+ years of professional experience in an analytical role, with emphasis on HR data management and reporting.

    • Strong emotional intelligence and leadership skills

    • Excellent consensus building skills; experience working cross-institutionally utilizing interpersonal and diplomatic skills.

    • Ability to view projects and data problems through a process thinking lens.

    • Proven ability to manage projects big and small, by demonstrating strong organizational abilities, excellent time management skills and ability to self-start and self-direct in an unstructured environment.

    • Experience with data visualization (e.g., tables, charts, graphs) using Tableau.

    • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).

    • Survey Management Experience (Survey Monkey, Red Cap or equivalent)

    • Experience with Excel/ Google Sheets (ability to merge two separate workbooks, create pivot tables, vlookup, nested functions, etc.).

  • Nice to Have:

    • Experience in continuous process improvement.

    • Experience working under an agile methodology/delivering value in incremental fashion.

    • Experience with Organizational Network Analysis tools (Polinode or equivalent)

    • SQL server or other relational database experience
