Job Description
The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard stands on the leading edge of biomedical research, with a mission to broadly disseminate discoveries and information to the scientific community and the general public. The Broad’s research is pursued through a blend of academic and industrial-scale production of genetic, biological, and chemical outputs, with scientists from Broad, MIT, Harvard, and the Harvard-affiliated hospitals working side-by-side.
We are currently seeking a Senior People Partner who will provide subject matter expertise and advise leaders as a true thought partner to assigned organizational areas.
Strategic Stakeholder Management

Develop strong relationships and effectively persuade and influence senior leadership on needs and strategies related to their people and organizational structure

Analyze people data and leverage insights to inform the People Strategy and business decisions that uphold an inclusive organization and engaged workforce.

Proactively assess employee development needs, make recommendations, and help implement solutions.

Provides strategic partnership, guidance, and advice on people management; determines root causes of issues and recommends appropriate plans to optimize talent, structure, and culture.

Consult, advise, influence, educate, and partner with Senior Leadership to ensure team outcomes are achieved.

Anticipate and advise on new approaches, strategies, and best practices to ensure continual improvements in people and organizational development.

Mentors other members of the Human Resources Partner team, providing guidance, direction and professional development opportunities.
Subject Matter Expert and Collaborator

Expertly cross-collaborate with talent acquisition, compensation, HRIS, Concern Management, and other necessary departments to ensure a well-rounded perspective on HR issues and key improvement projects Â

Provides expertise in facilitating employee relations challenges in a positive and proactive manner by listening, conducting objective investigations, making recommendations, and providing feedback to ensure appropriate resolution and follow through.

Mentor and guide other People Partner members on direct team on complex HR issues

Advise and collaborate on internal promotions, merit increases, and individual development plans
Experience and Required Skills
-
At least 8 years of progressive HR experience in a partner role that includes strategic HR consulting, workforce planning, and development as well as knowledge across multiple HR disciplines.

Exposure to a wide variety of business functions and ability to consult with managers.

Effective problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills in order to succinctly drive action.

Effective business acumen with a collaborative mindset focusing on best practices for building an equitable, inclusive, and diverse workforce.

Excellent PC skills including Google Drive and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with extensive Excel experience; Workday experience preferred.
