Join us as a Senior Payroll Specialist
Brown Brothers Harriman Global Payroll team is currently recruiting a Senior Payroll Specialist reporting into the Payroll Manager (Europe). The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for collecting and calculating payroll information for salaried and hourly employees, across any of BBH payroll locations. This is including but not restricted to, Poland, Luxembourg, Ireland (Dublin), United Kingdom (London), Switzerland (Zurich), China, Beijing, Japan & Cayman. This position processes and verifies the accuracy of all payment processing, as well as tax filings. The Senior Payroll Specialist will also assist in researching assessments received from third party vendors and verifying items have been processed accurately in the payroll including garnishments. This position also assists in the co-ordination of all internal and external audits of payroll.
Some of your key responsibilities include:Â Â
Payroll Processing and Verification:

Calculate and verify payroll information for both salaried and hourly BBH employees across any BBH payroll locations.

Preparation of draft reports for the correct processing of payroll inputs

Confirm the accuracy of time sheets and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Prepare standard withholdings and deductions from gross pay amounts. Audit paychecks, benefits adjustments, special bonus awards and commissions and ensure they are accurately processed

Balance payroll records and approve tax payments, as required

Collaborate with appointed third-party vendor to ensure a streamlined experience for all BBH employees
Payroll Reconciliation & Reporting:

Perform payroll reconciliation, including pension payments

Prepare reports for the Head of Payroll/Payroll Manager and other teams across BBH, as required

Perform month end reporting procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external procedures and regulations

Assist in year-end reconciliation processes.
Qualifications:
-
Experience of processing payroll in any or all BBH locations (Experience with Luxembourg, London, Dublin and any exposure to APAC is a plus)

Supporting and supervising junior members of the team

Have worked with both in-house and external payrolls

Very strong analytical, organization skills along with a strong attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines.

Ability to work both independently and collaborate in a team environment

Excellent experience working with payroll and HR systems especially Workday HCM

Experience working with external vendors Knowledge of relevant federal and state payroll taxes and legislation a plus

Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity

Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Access Knowledge of payroll processes and systems interfaces

Experience in the financial services industry is desirable but not required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is a plus
