Job Location:
San Antonio, TX (CH Guenther & Son)
The Total Rewards Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee group benefit and compensation plans and will provide analytical and technical support as needed. They will assist the Director of Compensation & Benefits in the monitoring and maintenance of total rewards (compensation and benefits) plans, policies and structures to ensure they continue to support business strategy and remain competitive, cost effective and legally compliant.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
Benefits
- Responsible for US leave management programs to include policy development, review and updates policies as necessary. Support all North America locations on concerns/issues regarding leave management and coordination of leave polices; identify areas for process improvement and make policy change recommendations.
- Develop innovative and effective associate communication strategies and materials to educate/inform associates on benefit plans and wellness subjects.
- Responsible for all aspects of CHG’s wellness program (plan design, communications, etc.).
- Primary point of contact for all benefit-related inquiries/issues in the US. Assist with benefits issues in Canada.
- Assist Field Human Resources in coordinating benefits processing (enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, etc.).
- Partner with Director of Compensation & Benefits on all aspects of annual Open Enrollment process.
- Partner with HRIS Team on benefits-related processes and transactions in the Workday system.
Compensation
- Assist with analysis, evaluation and design of current compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Develops recommendations for improvement.
- Ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to the company’s compensation strategy and overall business strategy/objectives.
- Assist with the job evaluation process, development and maintenance of formal job grades and salary ranges, and job analysis.
- Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or non-exempt and appropriate salary range. Ensure salaries comply with the current legislation and pay equity.
- Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents. Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
- Manages preparation and delivery of communication and education materials for compensation programs.
- Participates in salary surveys and manages the collection and analysis of survey data to determine the competitiveness of compensation programs.
Education and Experience:
- Three to five years’ experience as a Total Rewards Analyst required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Certified Employee Benefits Professional (CEBS) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of benefit and compensation plan designs.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
- Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting benefits and compensation programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Office environment (casual but appropriate dress).
- Light physical effort such as standing, sitting, walking and reaching as needed.
- Moderate noise (computers, phone, printers, light traffic).
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
- Occasional travel required, typically in the United States.
