Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of Payroll Specialist requires solid foundational and working knowledge of the end-to-end payroll cycle. Hands-on experience with the various inputs and outputs, such as third-party interfaces, timekeeping, tax filing/compliance, accounting, benefits and other key areas that integrate with payroll is essential. Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for payroll activities to ensure accurate and on-time processing.
- Prepares and processes payroll and time and attendance transactions.
- Manages and maintains payroll data, systems and schedules, and assists in the reconciliation of all payroll-related accounts by collecting and analyzing information to resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Understands, follows and implements payroll controls, policies, reporting requirements and wage and hour laws.
- Collects inputs for, and responds to, inquiries to clarify issues.
- Guides, advises and provides data for payroll audits, reconciliations and projects to ensure compliance and timely completion.
- Employee inquiry resolution and advanced issue resolution
- Daily, proactive interactions with key internal business partners and customers
- Adherence to the defined payroll calendar
- Maintenance of standard work/procedures
- Integration data management (connector between Workday and GlobalView)
- Payroll reconciliations
- Maintenance of the payroll blueprint
- Report creation and analysis
- Collaboration with vendors
- Monitor banking files and address rejects
- Basic testing/QA of change requests
- In-depth research of escalated issues
- Payroll Lodgments
Experience:
- 3 -5 years payroll experience in Malaysia Payroll, HR and/or Payroll IT experience
- Times Pay/ADP Celergo preferred with knowledge of Workday and associated integrations
- ACE Associate (Carrier continuous process improvement and quality assurance methodology) within a year of hire or within a year of notification under new job framework
- Progressive analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (excel, word, etc.)
- Working knowledge of country and localized payroll legislation
- Local legislation knowledge
- Working knowledge of International Assignees

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary degree required
- payroll certification/qualification required
Additional Requirement:
- Proficient in English (speak & write)
- Duties may require overtime hours to support payroll production
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential data
