Job Description Summary: 

The Management Reporting Analyst plays a key role in performing the assigned tasks related to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for CFA Institute. This role assists with development, maintenance, and distribution of management reporting. This role enables strategic decision making by ensuring timely delivery of financial information across all CFA functions and executive management team. The Management Reporting Analyst develops and enhances financial modeling capabilities that address the needs of a fast-paced, growing global organization.

The position utilizes tools and platforms that deliver best practice efficient and creative strategic solutions related to the forecasting and budgeting process.  This role assists in the development and support of complex financial modeling to forecast CFA Institute Revenue and Expenses, identify financial trends and drivers, and assist business partners with product and service business plan development.

The Management Reporting Analyst will communicate, engage, and influence stakeholders and their teams across the organization. The position is based in Charlottesville, VA USA with the option of flexible work arrangements, and reports to the Director, Management Reporting.

Job Description:

As the Management Reporting Analyst you will have the opportunity to:

  • Understand, implement, and optimize the use of tools and platforms to enhance management reporting and financial modeling.

  • Utilize Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, and similar tools to transform and analyze complex data sets and build actionable financial models and presentations.

  • Assist with the development and delivery of high quality, timely and insightful information to inform executive and senior leadership decision-making and influence the strategic direction of the organization.

  • Support the administration of Workday Adaptive Planning to ensure integrity and continuity of financial data and flawless NetSuite integration.

  • Support the preparation and delivery of presentations for Executive Management and other internal stakeholders.

  • Create and maintain dashboards, graphs, and charts to create a professional, clear, and concise visualization of the CFA Institute financial performance status and trends.

  • Demonstrate an exceptional ability to collaborate with executive leadership and key internal stakeholders to ensure their needs are being met and issues are proactively addressed.

The skills and experience required for the role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, or business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Data Modeling, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and FP&A

  • Proficient in or strong knowledge of financial planning and budgeting tools. Proficiency in Workday Adaptive Planning is preferred.

  • Strong competency in MS Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, Tableau, and similar Business Intelligence tools.

  • Experience in coding to manipulate data and draw insights from data sets is a plus.

  • Very high level of organizational and time management skills, including the ability to competently juggle competing and rapidly changing priorities.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
