Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for month end close, accurate monthly financial statement preparation and reporting, account reconciliations and analyzing financial data, identify trends and provide insights. This position requires knowledge and experience in specific hospital/healthcare accounting in areas like patient accounts receivable and revenue, provider fee program, DSH, HCAI/OSHPD chart of accounts, etc. Experience in bond accounting and reporting. Assists accounting manager with annual audit work paper preparation, annual federal and state filing requirements, schedules and ad-hoc projects. Will be managing multiple projects and tasks. Will interact with financial planning, budgeting and decision support teams.

Pay Range

Minimum $74,506 Midpoint $98,717 Maximum $122,928

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Shift Information

This position is hybrid with an expectation to occasionally report on site in Orange, CA. Hours are typically Monday through Friday 0800 – 1700 PST.

Experience

* Required: Minimum two (2) years of accounting or finance experience.

* Preferred: Four (4) years of accounting experience in hospital system or healthcare industry

Education

* Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business

* Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Administration with concentration in Accounting.

Training

* Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

* Required: Financial statement preparation. Spreadsheet skills, word processing, computerized financial systems. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard accounting cycles and procedures. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical skills and organization skills and good attention to detail. Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills to resolve accounting issues. Knowledge of computer and accounting systems (e.g. ,Workday, Infor Lawson) and software used in functional area (e.g., Microsoft applications like Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Ability to manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.

* Preferred: Experience with Workday and/or Infor Lawson. Knowledge and experience in specific hospital/healthcare accounting in areas like patient accounts receivable and revenue, provider fee program, DSH, HCAI/OSHPD chart of accounts, etc.

Licensure

* Required: None required.

* Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
