Title:  Global Employment Payroll Specialist, Ewing, NJ/ Remote

We are looking for a Global Employment Payroll Specialist that will work with the Global Employment Organization (aka GEO) to support the payroll and accounting responsibilities in both the U.S. and international locations where the GEO is present and payroll services are provided.  It is critical the individual in this role has a payroll and accounting background, high level of accuracy, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment independently, and excellent time management skills.  In addition, this person is a part of a team and will be expected to contribute ideas towards continuous improvement in systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

U.S. Payroll

  • Ensure collection of employee hours using Automated Time and Attendance Systems and create payroll export files. Run audit reports for verification and reconciles payroll registers to source documents
  • First level escalation for complex error resolution; assists team members with resolving errors and responding to inquiries
  • Oversees check Settlement Process, including resulting vendor file completion
  • Assist with the tax filing and reporting – Reconciling tax filing data between Payroll system and Tax Filing Agent
  • Backup for G/L interface function
  • Answer employee and management queries related to payroll
  • Manages projects with little guidance; assumes control when opportunities presented
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
  • Assist with internal auditors to test processes in the payroll area
  • Other duties assigned as necessary

International Payroll

  • Understand and perform all phases of the payroll processes for supported international locations, working with our international payroll support teams and wire vendor partner
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Perform audit of payroll registers prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Process off cycle pay runs when required
  • Backup for monthly accounting/reporting/closing activities related to payroll, expense and vendor payments in supported international locations
  • Evaluate and recommend opportunities to streamline payroll processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting from an accredited institution or equivalent qualification
  • 3-5 years’ experience in U.S. payroll/accounting
  • Experience in International/cross border payroll
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Workday experience required
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment independently under strict deadlines
  • Enjoys managing multiple responsibilities within a diversified role
  • Manages projects with little guidance, assumes control when needed
  • The ability to act responsibility and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it’s information for the company or for individuals
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing/re-prioritizing skills a must
