In view of the growth strategy of Cigna Kuala Lumpur, the position holder will be responsible for developing and managing the entire HR spectrum to support the business people plan that supports the overall business results.
At a tactical level, he /she is expected to provide the right balance of business partnership and execution of HR, talent management and organizational initiatives. This includes coordinating and providing timely and thoughtful recommendations/solutions to the business on issues such as talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, organizational development, reward and recognition, staff engagement and retention.
This role will also work closely with peers across Europe. The role will report to the European Global Segments HR Director who is based in the UK, managing the HR team in KL.
Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results
• Understand business and functional priorities thoroughly and translate them into the design and development of a business-enabling people agenda which is aligned to the above.
• Support the business leaders to build and drive the company culture through Reward for Contribution.
• Responsible for the effective delivery of the full spectrum of People strategy, both strategic and operation levels, including talent acquisition, retention, performance management, compensation & benefits, talent management and learning & development.
• Oversee strategic people initiatives and change programs from development through successful execution.
• Manage talent review, development and succession planning in consultation with the business.
• Work closely with C&B dept. and liaise on compensation and benefits for employees to ensure company’s competitiveness and equity among employees.
• Develop strong working relationships with management and staff by providing timely advice, guidance, and coaching as needed to improve and maintain performance levels.
• Monitor the performance levels of the organization and assist business managers through the process of addressing performance issues through performance improvement planning and execution.
• Introduce new HR initiatives and support global and enterprise initiatives as and when required.
• Support talent development by working closely with business managers and their respective functional/global HRBPs to identify development opportunities for employees, understand and address current capabilities and future training needs.
• Ensures that optimum conditions (compensation, career development, and rewards and recognition) exist to provide an environment where employees are engaged and excellent performance can be achieved.
• Create, implement, sustain and improve all Human Resources Systems to ensure compliance with local policies and external regulations.
• Support HR communication and employee activity if needed.

• Serve as liaison between the country and European / International Markets functional teams, regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
• Collaborate and support on a range of employee relations matters and work effectively with
stakeholders to recommend and resolve them and to mitigate organizational risks and protect retention and engagement levels. This includes identifying any performance issues and providing support with coaching and corrective actions as necessary.
• Execute on People System (Workday) processes including Position Management, headcount reporting, HR transactions etc.
• Partner with business and Finance in HR budget planning and forecasting and monitor it’s execution to ensure it is efficiently managed and adhered to.
• Coach and support the business through effective change management practices to ensure the successful adoption and implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Stay on top of market trends and identify opportunities for HR branding in markets, including keeping abreast of market developments and competition through active participation in industry events, and providing sound advice to country and senior management.
• Formulate and implement HR policies and projects as required.
• Prepare HR-related metrics and management reporting.

Experience/Knowledge Requirements
• Degree holder with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a HR discipline.
• Demonstrated high proficiency in a broad array of HR functional competencies.
• Generalist/business partner background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development.
• Experience in deriving HR policies in accordance with regulatory development in Financial Institutions will be an advantage.
• Strong employee relations knowledge.
• Strong partnership mind-set and genuine interest in championing people initiatives.
• Self-starter who is able to work successfully, proactively and independently, manage competing priorities and be flexible in roles and responsibilities.
• Strong ability to perform well and be unfailingly diplomatic in a high pressure and complex
environment.
• Able to build trust and relationships quickly and partner with all levels of management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to listen effectively, respond
