The Purchasing Division is an agency within the Department of General Services. The Purchasing Division is responsible for acquiring goods and/or related services for agencies of the City and County of Denver utilizing various governmental procurement “best practices,” including competitive bidding and direct “open market” purchases.

We are seeking a Workday Analyst Specialist, who will be responsible for operating and improving the Workday Procurement module for the City and County of Denver as well as supporting other Purchasing division processes and systems.  This is a dynamic environment with collaboration among the Workday Business owners, Office of Human Resources, Finance Department, and Technology Services. You will be joining the Purchasing Division’s Programs unit, the technical/management group responsible for administering and improving the City’s Workday Procurement module.

In this Workday Analyst Specialist position, you will:

  • Design, implement or enhance Workday Procurement systems and applications to meet the needs of Procurement, Finance, Grants, and other business activities city wide. Design, configure and maintain business processes and other objects in support of procurement services within the overall service-oriented architecture of the Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Configure and manage changes. Plan, develop and execute functional, system, regression, integration and performance testing. Consult on data structures, workflow, security, etc. Analyze requests with respect to laws, regulations and best practices.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems with Workday and other systems, including addressing application, database, and user problems. Advising customers on Workday best practices, configurations and integrations. Analyzing data hygiene and accuracy, and executing single and bulk updates.

  • Functions as the lead on projects to design, implement or enhance workday systems in support of procurement, finance, grants and/or other city wide functional needs. Configure Workday Procurement objects, business processes, and other components, and test and manage change in support of the City’s service-oriented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) architecture.

  • Responsible for researching Workday Feature Releases, Service Updates, Workday Community Posts and Brainstorms to stay current on existing, new, and proposed features and functionality. Feature Releases are pushed by Workday and occur twice a year. Workday allots 5 weeks (200 hours) from the time new features are announced to the implementation.

  • Performing data analysis using a variety of tools.  Providing actionable insights Citywide by analyzing and reporting on Denver’s employee population and specific demographic and or other metrics useful for City resource planning.  Develops complex reports.

  • Identify Workday functionality and integrated technology opportunities and solutions to resolve complex business problems. Manage, analyze, and resolve complex business processes and user activities, and make recommendations to improve business and agency processes.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.

  • Experience: Three (3) years of professional level experience specializing in the implementation and integration of Workday software.

  • Education and Experience Equivalency:  One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education for all classifications. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
