The Director, Workday Financials Consulting Services should be a “go to” practice leader, expected to provide expert guidance to the Financials team and their subsequent team members.  This individual will assist the sales team with sales activities, such as orals, estimations and Statements of Work (SOWs). This person works closely with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Managing Consultants, and leads, and acts as a liaison between the Financials team and executive management.  This person will assist in identifying business needs, staffing projects, and ensuring that the work/life balance of our consultants is monitored and adjusted appropriately. The Director of Workday Financials Consulting Services will report to the Vice President of Consulting Services.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Project Oversight:

  • Oversight responsibility for Financials projects across the practice

  • Oversee and assist engagement/project managers and team members when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk and develop solutions and strategies

Sales Support:

  • Support the RFP response and pursuit process for Financials work

  • Review estimates for sales opportunities

  • Review SOWs for language and accuracy

  • Attend Orals and prospect meetings

Team Leadership:

  • Assist in the recruitment, development, and management of a diverse, remote team of consultants supporting Financials applications

  • Promote a team-oriented, challenging and innovative work environment

  • Lead and manage Senior Managers and/or Managing Consultants to ensure consultants are adhering to the activities, processes and procedures outlined in Workday and Collaborative’s Implementation Methodology

  • Drive team and individuals to achieve high customer satisfaction levels

  • Manage utilization to targets

  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients and within the company; can build consensus and achieve goals through influence

  • Ability to build trust-based relationship and identify and foster business development opportunities

  • Monitor the Financials sales pipeline to ensure accurate capacity planning for the team along with assigning resources to projects

People Development:

  • Perform role of mentor and coach

  • Schedule regular 1:1 meetings with direct and indirect reports

  • Assess team member skills and maintain skills matrix

  • Analyze team skills and provide for cross training to maintain teams’ ability to staff projects appropriately

  • Advise management team on team members’ level of expertise and availability

Performance Management:

  • Establish direct reports’ goals and objectives during the bi-annual review process

  • Direct the collection of performance feedback from customer and engagement/project manager on a quarterly basis or upon completion of project for your entire team

  • Direct the collection of all internal contributions for team members assuring data is received by HR on a quarterly basis

  • Meet with team members bi-annually to provide performance and customer satisfaction feedback

  • Drive bi-annual performance review process for the Financials team

Skills & Requirements:

  • Possess 7-10 years of Workday (or other ERP) Financial implementation experience

  • Proven experience leading a virtual team

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Required characteristics: fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments

  • Must work well within and across teams to get things accomplished

  • Possess sales engagement experience estimating and presenting to prospects
