The Workday Absence and Time Tracking Principal Consultant is a key member of the delivery team, bridging the gap between the business and technical teams by providing complex Workday inter-system solutions. They will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide clients through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions based on best practice, experience, and an understanding of the client’s unique business requirements.

  • Engage and support the client through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy systems to the Workday Time Tracking, Absence and Scheduling applications.

  • Deliver high-quality work product with minimal oversight, while regularly keeping the client, the project team and the Engagement Manager updated on project progress and potential changes.

  • Willingness to play a functional leadership role on a project, or as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead and/or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.

  • Leverage hands-on expertise Workday, including loading client data, migrating configuration from tenant to tenant, and configuring business processes and security.

  • Utilize your technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates.

  • Act as a mentor to fellow consultants, including providing support for shadow assignments.

  • Actively participate in internal opportunities to share your skills and learnings with others within the organization.

  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.

Skills & Requirements:

  • 2-5 years Human Resources, Payroll, or Time Tracking and Absence software experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of Workday functional implementation experience preferred. Workday TimeTracking and Absence certification is preferred, but not required. 

  • Proven experience gathering business requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines preferred  

  • Experienced with MS Office products; specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

  • Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on-site if needed
