The Workday Financials Functional Architect is the “go to” implementation leader, expected to provide expert guidance and delivery for Financials engagements. This individual serves as the billable functional lead on Workday Financials implementations. This person is a senior Workday Financials product expert who works closely with Engagement Managers, Managers, and functional area leads. This person will provide overarching guidance and leadership on Financials engagements to ensure a robust and complete solution that meets customer needs and allows for future enhancements with limited rework. The Workday Financials Functional Architect will report to the Financials Delivery Director.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Project Oversight:

  • Oversight responsibility for Financials projects across the practice

  • Oversee and assist engagement/project managers and team members when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk and develop solutions and strategies

Sales Support:

  • Support the RFP response and pursuit process for Financials work

  • Review estimates for sales opportunities

  • Review SOWs for language and accuracy

  • Attend Orals and prospect meetings

Team Leadership:

  • Assist in the recruitment, development, and management of a diverse, remote team of consultants supporting Financial applications

  • Promote a team-oriented, challenging and innovative work environment

  • Lead and manage Senior Managers and/or Managing Consultants to ensure consultants are adhering to the activities, processes and procedures outlined in Workday and Collaborative’s Implementation Methodology

  • Drive team and individuals to achieve high customer satisfaction levels

  • Manage utilization to targets

  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients and within the company; can build consensus and achieve goals through influence

  • Ability to build trust-based relationship and identify and foster business development opportunities

  • Monitor the Financials sales pipeline to ensure accurate capacity planning for the team along with assigning resources to projects

People Development:

  • Perform role of mentor and coach

  • Schedule regular 1:1 meetings with direct and indirect reports

  • Assess team member skills and maintain skills matrix

  • Analyze team skills and provide for cross training to maintain teams’ ability to staff projects appropriately

  • Advise management team on team members’ level of expertise and availability

Performance Management:

  • Establish direct reports’ goals and objectives during the bi-annual review process

  • Direct the collection of performance feedback from customer and engagement/project manager on a quarterly basis or upon completion of project for your entire team

  • Direct the collection of all internal contributions for team members assuring data is received by HR on a quarterly basis

  • Meet with team members bi-annually to provide performance and customer satisfaction feedback

  • Drive bi-annual performance review process for the Financials team

Skills and Requirements:

  • Possess 5-7 years of Workday (or other ERP) Consulting implementation experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience leading a virtual team for 3+ years

  • Required characteristics: fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments

  • Must work well within and across teams to get things accomplished

  • Possess sales engagement experience estimating and presenting to prospects
